I could care less about your weak ass salary. Ok you seen WoW players that workout. I never said WoW players are fat and aren't. I just know majority of them sit on their ass all day playing that ****ing game. What's the harm off playing sports? If you play a sport chances are you could make money and not just spend it on an online video game. Like I said before there are other online video games better than WoW anyway. So if your done trying to be a fake Super Marie, or even her groupie I'm ending this conversation because obviously I touched a soft-spot. Baby ass WoW player......
WoW is just one of those games that has several unfortunate stereotypes attached to it. Some of them are not entirely unfounded. I have read reports of people playing WoW almost like an addiction, and there are even some support groups for people whose spouses play WoW rather than pay attention to them. For instance.
On the other hand, WoW has over 5 million players, and when you look at that many people, you're bound to find some with problems. Those are the ones people focus on, like whoever commited suicide because of the game or something. I've played WoW before, without seeing any of this, but I am aware that such problems exist because of the press it gets.
As for the story, I've heard that it contradicts itself and the main Warcraft canon, but I've got no ready examples. The lore is quite extensive, and great, but it's a bit difficult to see sometimes under all the quests.
I do not make 43428$ a year. It is however an average salary if someone has an decent job in Sweden, which is why I used that number. The quantity of Swedish gamers is high, which is why I use
I also don't play World of Warcraft, so it's not a soft-spot for me. I never have played it, nor do I intend to ever start. All I'm saying, is that you're unjustly judging. I don't like prejudice opinions, therefore my posts on this topic.
If anyone struck a nerve, I think it was me. I don't know what I said that got you worked up like this, but I apologize.
So I'm sorry.
World of Warcraft has a current number of over 11 million monthly paying customers. If one of those 11 million die in relevance to the game (Addiction, missing medical appointment or something), newspapers will say "World of Warcraft kills" and narrow minded people think it's an unhealthy game for weak minded.
The story in World of Warcraft is not contradictory to the actual Warcraft canon, but it approach it in a world difficulty adjusted to the players. What in Warcraft is a 10-player raid boss would require entire armies in the actual lore. So everything you see done in World of Warcraft should be taken with a pinch of salt.
Take Arthas for example; In the book Rise of the Lich King, he react to and split a racing longbow arrow from the best ranger in Warcraft in half with a previously unprepared sword. In World of Warcraft, you never miss him.
It is a very basic game. The concept, its features will evolve in the next expansion, but it is still not a rival to upcoming games like SW:TOR game-wise. Although to the core, 9/10 MMO RPGs has the same concept.
It's not a fight. It's a daily debate on World of Warcraft, with the common argument of; Is it worth the money or not?
Although I will say, Blizzard shouldn't have such high-cost services (Although high being relative here). I can afford it, as can many others, but do they really need the money? 11.000.000+ active monthly paying customers. They almost make more in one month, than the entire World of Warcraft project has cost them.
Quit the cursing and insults. You're making yourself look very bad at the moment. This type of talk will get this thread closed. Those insults were unprovoked and unneeded.
Actually if you play sports the chances are that you won't make money. You have to be leagues above the average player in the sport you are playing. I have the build and capability to play American Football, I could try out but will more than likely not pass the test or go professional. You can also make money playing video games you know?
What's the difference in us Roleplayers? We could be out there "playing sports" as you say instead of spending our time online pretending to be someone else, a different race, in a different world. Playing a video game all day, roleplaying all day, playing sports all day, they are all things people do that they enjoy doing. Why criticize a WoW player when you do something similar?
I also do not see a fake Super Marie or a groupie of hers. What would make Rapidash one? Is it because she disagrees with you and respectively makes her case without cursing or insults?
I feel that this thread should be closed temporarily...you obviously didn't learn your lesson from the last time it was closed, so if your going to post then at least do so with respect and maturity in this thread towards one another.
May I remind you people that Cherrywild created this thread for our benefit, And not a place to trade insults or debate, That always leads to heated abuse which seems to dwell alot lately in this thread...
Cherrywild created this thread with approval from Ushgarak so we could get somewhere to socialize, us UHRPG participants. There's nothing wrong with debating, but it is unfortunate how Hunter Abari treat debating. It is because of someone getting worked up like this that the thread risk being closed, not because we debate.
It's nothing wrong with the thread. It doesn't provoke insults. There are just some members on this forum that are extra sensitive and take an innocent debate one step further than should be done.
So I disagree, TxG. Using this thread for debating is in our benefit. It's not those of us with good intentions fault that others can't keep a discussion civil.
Closing it solves nothing. Ask people to behave, to be polite instead.
To tell you the truth I think you just made things worse. This whole thing with Hunter was about to blow over but if I know him, he's gonna say something to you your not gonna like. Rapidash ended it so we couldve just left it at that.
Oh my fellow Georgian, I doubt he'd affect me in the way that I won't like what he says. I posted nothing that seems remotely insulting, if he gets angry at people who disagrees with him then that is fine by me.
Nothing wrong with socializing nor harmless debate, which has you said is one of the reasons why this thread was created for. But when tempers start to rise and debate's get out of hand and then the arguments come and so on...Then that's the time people should stop and take a time out and then come back to the thread when they have calmed down a bit.
Not everyones going to agree on things thats just the way the cookie crumbles, But in future people should just think before people say things and have consideration that everyone has different opinions on matters and they should just leave it at that, Before they say something that could upset ones feelings even on here it can happen just like anywhere I guess.
