So guys, I started this thread with big hopes and have yet purchased the game. I would greatly appreciate it if anyone could let me know if it is worth getting.
I downloaded the demo and was not impressed, never played soulcalibur but it was boring, repetetive and quite possibley the worse fighting game I have ever played. The controls are retarded, after using the same three moves for five minutes I gave up.

You basicly described every other fighting game I have played besides Smash Bros and Calibur series imo.
yea, go ahead and get it. you won't regret getting it if you really like fighting games.
imo, right now it's the best fighting game on the planet. it's better than tekken. it not only has the best graphics of any fighting game to ever come out, it has the best graphics of any game that's ever come out including crysis. (with crysis @ no. 2, of course) -crysis has the physics though-
the game's a blast playing with friends and when it's played right and the single player mode(s) = fun. they're very challenging and rewarding. at times the computer can get rediculous but you figure them out. character creation is one of the highlights, I thought. and I never even got into modes like that in games before. never wanted too until I played sc4
the soudtrack's amazing too. (i can't get that tropical island shipwreck song outta my head) -maybe cause it's my fav stage- and the song on that ice/snow stage is just beautifully erie and cold no pun intended. it sounds like a winter/warrior type of epic song.
I heard the game on live is just as great.
bottomline, you cannot get a better fighting game, not now and not for a while. it's got the market cornered on greatness. but these are my sentiments.
I give it a 9/10. the announcer's not as engaed as in it's prequels (he doesn't even say their names anymore)
so yea go get it, man. you're gonna like it a lot.
