I get the distinct feeling that there is a larger population in the comic book forums than the Anime Forum. So the laws of averages does seem to indicate a greater chance of finding a dbz hater in a larger population.
However guys like phenomenol don't help matters. In fact if anything his efforts would increase the amount of animosity toward DBZ. Same thing happens whenever an overzealous fan is encountered.
Fanboy's do much to damage the credibility of that which they love. Go ahead and ask people their feelings toward Hulk and ask them how XMeat influenced it. same with Storm and 2damnloud. etc...
Buu was only able to shatter a dimension when he lost control of his emotions, it seems he can't do it at will, and even if he can shatter dimensions, that doesn't mean he can physicly stand against Thanos (though I'm not sure who is stronger at this point) and even if he shattered the dimension how would that help him? If it kills Thanos it'll kill Buu most likely as well.
Personally, I don't know how DBZ got so popular. Seriously, who can stand to watch the kindergarden art and crap animation for more than 6 minutes?
However, that shouldn't be held against them in a vs battle. The DBZ guys are very powerful, just not more powerful than a low level GL and not as versatile.

Personaly I liked it, not all the animation was bad, some was very good, but each episode had a diff animation company produce it so one episode was quality and the next sucked, then another was ok and so on and so on. with this said tho the manga is far superior because its just far more consistent.
So I got done looking at that Thanos respect thread and I think it's ridiculous that he can actually beat the surfer and pretty easily according to the scans I saw. Surfer can go light speeds but he didn't against Thanos. Surfer has matter transmutation, but didn't use it against Thanos. Surfer has all these ridiculously powerful skills but he decides to shoot Thanos with a beam similar to those of DBZ and then gets the **** knocked out of him by punches. Honestly to me it looked like Surfer was jobbing (not the case though). Realistically I think Thanos shouldn't be able to touch Surfer and that Surfer according to his powers should have won the fight.
You know what, since nobody responded to this I'm saying Super Buu FTW. ****in starlin. How the **** is surfer gonna get knocked out in 4 punches or even touched by Thanos. Fukcin Starlin
You really don't know Thanos then do You? trading respects thread really doesn't do a character much justice. Thanos since his rebirth got a upgrade which include he can't die by no means, got a power increase, had his artificial enhancements replace by natural enhancements by death. Thanos who is mutant eternal and most likely the most powerful since his grandfather Chronus now Nebula abstract of time. Thanos powers are quasi mystic in nature plus can tap into same amount powers as Odin, Thanos is one of the smartest beings in the universe and that what put's him over silver Surfer everytime. And Thanos is that damn powerful, he fought people htat will smack SS up and down the universe, and that's what puts him over Super Buu. Thanos absorbing feat is greater than Buu can every imagine, and that's been proven.
Thanos is hell of slow, did you know Starlin gave Thanos "Human olympic speeds"!!! Thanos speed sucks major butt and yet he is able to tagg the slow ass sliver surfer? (we all know Surfer's reflexes suck).
Super Buu wins, the guy can destroy the universe and any fanboy who thinks Thanos can win needs to get on their knees an ask for forgiveness.

The best basic martial artists there can run at like 100 mph while captain america can only run like 40 n he was enhanced. u put the DBZ characters(besides like Porunga or maybe the other dragons) n they all will be weaklings

Are we still on this. There is no character in the history of DBZ that can beat Silver surfer, Hal jordan, Thor, Superman, hell even Gladiator, and Someone thinks boo wins this? Thanos transforms boo into a statue, and then mind rapes him and implants a replaying image of the fight in boos head so that he thinks he's still fighting for all eternity. Nuff said.
