I think that's more than 3 votes for Dante Mid-Herald.

Well, if we count things like Meduza gaze...but I've already said what I think about that ugly Greek at Kratos vs Dante on Games vs forum and I don't want to repeat the same thing twice.
Kratos for low herald is fine (it was very hard to decide how he actually can hurt Dante for good and were some sdtupid points like knocking down flying Dante with lightning- even though his flight ability is lightning related).

It may be more than 3. I just seen the list of what was up and Dante only had 2 and he wasn't on the front page. So I just thought I'd agree cause I think he's got the power to be mid-Herald.

Nothing wrong with that. I was just making the comment because I liked that placement for Dante. I had not given my vote on Dante before because I got carried away asking Charlotte why she placed him there. Needless to say I agree witth yall.

Dante for mid-herald.

Question...what would phase transfer mass manipulation be considered? It's a term used in the Xenosaga verse...but I have no idea what it actually means....or if there's anything close ressembling that.

Does it show what it does? I have no idea what that would be considered.

It's a cartridge that KOS-MOS loads into her handgun/blaster/wtf knows(whatever the damned thing is called) and she claims that by limiting the phase transfer mass she can take an accurate shot without vaporizing a star. So the Phase Transfer Cannon--as the thing is called--has the capacity to destroy a star.

Maybe it takes the weapon down in power or makes the beam or whatever shoots out smaller and more focused.

I'm curious about what limiting the phase transfer mass could be...matter manipulation/energy manipulation? WTF? Wonder why the developers did not use a real term...Oh well.

Edit: It is probably energy manipulation, but the mass at the end of it drives me nut.

Z is far beyond Transcendent, I'd actually put him somewhere between Celestial and Eternity level.

He was an anomaly created by Tokimi (multiversal goddess that created the hyperdimension, at least 11 universes), and he has 5 Light Hawk Wings. Light Hawk Wings are a manifestation of divine cosmic power, which are essentially a programmer's back door, or "cheat code" for the universe (the programmer being the Chousein, Tokimi, Tsunami, and Washu). They automatically respond to any attack appearing just in time to defend, and nullify the attack, multiplying it by 0 across all space, time, and dimensional vectors, ignoring/locally rewriting any laws of physics that get in their way. When used for offense, they completely negate an opponent's defenses, again multiplying them by 0, and erase the opponent's essence completely from existence. Kagato, who had incredible powers of regeneration, simply faded away into nothingness when he was touched by Tenchi's Light Hawk Wing Sword. When a black hole opened around Tenchi and his friends, his Light Hawk Wings activated, changing the local gravitational constant and nullifying the gravity and time dilation, and he saved them and escaped. Also, even without his Light Hawk Wings, Tokimi stated that the power required for her to kill Z would be enough to destroy the third dimension (the normal universe, closest to the one we recognize, containing Earth, the planets, solar systems, galaxies, etc.). She could have done it but didn't want to for that reason, since the Counter-Actor was fighting her and the consequences would be unpredictable.

Anyway, Z's feats include:

Crossing between universes in the hyperdimension in order to outrun the galaxy police

Blocking hundreds of shots from a fleet of thousands of powerful ships (and even the weakest ships in the Tenchiverse can one - shot planets easily), and then destroying them all with one attack.

When his powers first appeared, one of his eyes and part of his head had been injured in a fight, they were instantly regenerated with strange new purplish forms, and his Light Hawk Wings appeared and shattered the ship he was in, piercing and nullifying some of the constructs created by Tokimi to test him. He then formed his LHWs into a ring and released a shockwave that destroyed all of the constructs in a huge radius in space around him.

He observed events on earth from another dimension, remaining undetectable even to Washu in her mortal form, then he arrived and used some sort of molecular transmutation to change the contents of the message Mihoshi had written, in order to trick her brother into trying to destroy the Earth (and kill Tenchi).

After Mihoshi's brother's ship, the Chobimaru, was defeated by Ryoko and Ryo-Ohki, Z decided to take care of matters personally, and he attacked earth, destroying most of it just to lure out Tenchi.

When he was introducing himself to Tenchi in orbit of the destroyed Earth, he waved his hand and caused huge burning lines to appear on the remnants of earth, spelling out his name.

He then destroyed the moon, and its debris fell toward Tenchi. Tenchi's Light Hawk Wings transformed into their battle forms to protect him, but Z sacrificed 3 of his own LHWs to cancel out Tenchi's, and then sent one of his two remaining towards him, as it erased any asteroids it hit from existence.

Tenchi reacted instinctively, using his power to teleport to the orbit of Saturn in only a few seconds, but Z was already there waiting for him. Then Z summoned the Counter - Actor (who he had travelled to the far future to enlist the aid of), and she trapped Tenchi. Z attacked him, but Tokimi blocked his attack, and the resultant shockwave destroyed Saturn's rings.

Z began to transform his body into pure light to pass through Tokimi's hand, she threatened to destroy him, he stated that the power to do that would destroy the third dimension, she backed off. Then Tsunami arrived and opposed Tokimi, their quick clash blew a large hole in the galaxy.

Ryoko appeared in Ryo-Ohki, and Ryoko attacked him, but her attacks were ineffective. Ryo - Ohki then attacked him with the same attack it had used to completely destroy the Chobimaru (a planet - size spaceship with the power to destroy the earth in one shot), but Z blocked Ryo-Ohki's attack with one hand and sliced it in half with one of his Light Hawk Wings. Part of Ryo-Ohki managed to detach beforehand and escaped, though.

Finally, Z attacked Tenchi, and bisected him with his Light Hawk Wing. Tenchi's mortal body died, but it released the hidden power within him, which was the avatar of the Kami Tenchi, the true omnipotent being that was above the Chousein. The power released from Tenchi and finally killed Z. However, it went out of control and began shaking apart the multiverse, and the Chousein couldn't stop it.

Meanwhile, Tenchi's mortal soul was sent throughout the hyperdimension and back to a certain moment in time, where he rescued the female form of Kagato (don't ask - it's complicated). Anyway, Kami Tenchi appeared, caused the Counter - Actor to back down, thus saving Tsunami, and stopped the power overflow and returned Tenchi back to his body, reviving him.

The Chousein fixed the damage to the multiverse and reincarnated Z's soul in a new body, to give him a second chance at life.

1.Time control (able to completely stop or slow down time in the limited area around his obody (a couple hundred metres from himself at max, I think, but time freezing field moves with him as he moves)
2.High demonic form (Sparda form) which is invulnerable to anything exept highest order demonic magic and reality warping of the same level. In that form he's able to fly on subluminal speeds and fire powerful energy blasts capable on destroying meteors, deflect magic attacks and so on. Actually he has surpassed his father and become the strongest demon of his universe.
3.Is able to resist his soul being drained away from his body for approximately 15 minutes (so Soul Reaver\Soul Gem aren't the ultimate weapons against him, though resisting weakens him)...
4. Withstood the attacks of the strongest underworld demons easily and it didn't phase him(and if we count Nocturne, than at age of approximately 38 years he battled Lusifer itself and defeated him)
5.Healing factor which is really better than Wolverine's.
6. Creates shadow "clone" of himself which is invulnerable to physical attacks but is able to inflict the same physical damage as Dante himself.
7.Is able to create a forcefield around himself capable on converting any damage he receives into extra health for himself.
And that's just some of feats...without minor things like running down the wall faster than a speeding bullet (or in that case a sword which was speeded up with bullets to the point that air started burning round him yet Dante keeped up with it and reached it easily while RUNNING down the wall), surfing on a rocket lauched into him from rocket launcher and another funny yet insignificant stuff).

I've posted the list of the feats (including Nocturne ones, since Nocturne is the part of canonical chronology nowadays according to some sourses, explaining Dante's "pasttime" at Hell at DMC2) on page 5 of that thread.

If Z lacks matter manipulation he is not skyfather and definitely not celestial etc. That is the reason why KOS-MOS(someone capable of blasting a universe/dimension out of existence) is stuck at trascendant, and she can actually teleport people from other dimensions to her own among her many other abilities.

It's simple why they are stuck under skyfather. Because if you pit them against any skyfather chances are they get transmutated into a teddy bear or something else.

Possibly high herald level - we've seen Superman take fifty supernova's to the chin, after all. Transcendent at best, though.

Less regeneration than Wolverine's capable of...The Silver Surfer was chopped up into hundreds of pieces and reformed himself fine....

Nothing out of range for a Lantern or the Surfer....

(Easily) Busting a planet is something pretty much ANY herald-leveller could do, low to high. erm.

When he was introducing himself to Tenchi in orbit of the destroyed Earth, he waved his hand and caused huge burning lines to appear on the remnants of earth, spelling out his name.

Cool....Superman wrote on the moon with heat vision.

So, destroying something MUCH smaller than the Earth, and then destroying several things that are MUCH smaller than that first thing makes you eternity? ....

Teleportation - cool. Not impressive. Z being there before a 'few second instictive teleportation' - cool. Not impressive. Definitely not skyfather. DEFINITELY not celestial.

Don't know who Tokimi or Tsunami are, or what the third dimension is, to be perfectly honest. Hard to comment. Transforming one's body to light though definitely isn't anything to get him off the transcendent list.

quote:
Ryoko appeared in Ryo-Ohki, and Ryoko attacked him, but her attacks were ineffective. Ryo - Ohki then attacked him with the same attack it had used to completely destroy the Chobimaru (a planet - size spaceship with the power to destroy the earth in one shot), but Z blocked Ryo-Ohki's attack with one hand and sliced it in half with one of his Light Hawk Wings. Part of Ryo-Ohki managed to detach beforehand and escaped, though.

Blocked a planet-busting attack. Didn't you say he took hundreds of planet-busting attacks just earlier? Unimpressed.

quote:
Finally, Z attacked Tenchi, and bisected him with his Light Hawk Wing. Tenchi's mortal body died, but it released the hidden power within him, which was the avatar of the Kami Tenchi, the true omnipotent being that was above the Chousein. The power released from Tenchi and finally killed Z. However, it went out of control and began shaking apart the multiverse, and the Chousein couldn't stop it.

So, the power of god killed him. The same way the power of god would kill a celestial. The same way the power of god would kill mary jane. Hardly puts him above transcendent.

quote:
Meanwhile, Tenchi's mortal soul was sent throughout the hyperdimension and back to a certain moment in time, where he rescued the female form of Kagato (don't ask - it's complicated). Anyway, Kami Tenchi appeared, caused the Counter - Actor to back down, thus saving Tsunami, and stopped the power overflow and returned Tenchi back to his body, reviving him.

The Chousein fixed the damage to the multiverse and reincarnated Z's soul in a new body, to give him a second chance at life.

And that has what to do with Z's 'AWZUM POWA!!'?

Judging by what others have said of his feats, putting him at transcendent is being generous. One could EASILY make an argument for him being one of the top-high-heralders.

I'm listing Dante's abilities with his Devil Arms from DMC3 (a number of demonic weapons which contain souls of demonic creatures and have elemental powers Dante can use to beat his enemies).

* Rebellion Abilities
o Prop Shredder - Spins the sword, repeatedly striking whatever's in front of Dante.
o Aerial Rave - Slashes an enemy in mid-air up to four times, during a jump.
o Sword Pierce - Throws the sword at an enemy; without the sword, Dante fights hand-to-hand.
o Dance Macabre - Unleash a massive number of slashes at breakneck speeds.
o Crazy Dance - Stick your sword into the ground during Dance Macabre and spin around it, kicking all enemies near you.
* Cerberus Abilities
o Flicker - Whirl the flail around, hitting enemies in the immediate vicinity. Can be used in mid-air.
o Crystal - Thrust the flail into the ground to create huge ice pillars.
o Million Carats - Thrust the flail into the ground to create a huge ice glacier surrounding Dante.
o Ice Age - Encases Dante in a thick shield of ice, protecting him from all attacks.
* Agni & Rudra Abilities
o Crossed Swords - Destroy enemies with an X-style sword slash.
o Sky Dance - Swing both swords in mid air, then descend to the ground, spinning like a saw blade.
o Crawler - Plunge your swords into the ground, unleashing a carpet of flame in the enemy's direction.
o Twister - Spin your swords to create a vortex of fire and wind.
o Tempest - Generate a flame vortex that burns everything in its path.
* Nevan Abilities
o Slash - Attack enemies with the bladed section of your guitar.
o Air Slash - Attack enemies with your guitar's blade while in mid-air.
o Feedback - Whirl your guitar around your body, hitting nearby enemies.
o Crazy Roll - Generate electricity while slashing enemies with your guitar.
o Distortion - Attack enemies with a barrage of bats and blasts of lightning.
* Beowulf Abilities
o Zodiac - Emit a charged ball of energy from your fingertips.
o The Hammer - While in mid-air, smash your enemies to the ground.
o Volcano - Slam the ground with your fist to create a small super-nova.
o Real Impact - A highly focused, incredibly powerful uppercut that obliterates enemies.
o Tornado - Knock the enemy into the air, then follow them, kicking hundreds of times at lightning speeds.

_______________
By the way, Dante's encounter with Nevan (true vampiric goddess with powers resembling both high level vampire and succubus) shows that Dante is also resistant to hypnosis\mind control.

Dante's skills with different firearms from DMC3
* Ebony & Ivory Abilities
o Twosome Time - Fires pistols in two different directions.
o Wild Stomp - Fires pistols at a downed enemy, then kicks it away.
o Rain Storm - Jumps into the air, blasting pistols down in circular motion, knocking down all enemies.
o Charge Shot - Charges weapon, then fires off a magically imbued burst.
o Rapid Shot - Quickly clicks off a large number of shots in a short period of time.
* Shotgun Abilities
o Fireworks - Swings the shotgun around like nunchaku, firing in different directions.
o Charge Shot - Charges weapon, then fires off a magically imbued burst.
o Rapid Shot - Quickly click off a large number of shots in a short period of time.
o Gun Stinger - Rams the shotgun into an enemy and fires a concentrated burst of buckshot.
o Point Blank - Fires the shotgun while standing right next to the enemy, doing massive damage.
* Artemis Abilities
o Multi-lock - Locks on to a single enemy and fires several lasers at them.
o Sphere - Fires a giant orb of laser energy.
o Acid Rain - Shoots multiple laser beams into the air which come raining down on enemies.
* Spiral Abilities
o Trick Shot - Ricochets bullets off walls to hit multiple enemies.
o Sniper - Targets an enemy's weak point and fires a high-damage shot.
o Reflector - Fires a bullet that ricochets off nearby surfaces, then hits the enemy for massive damage.
* Kalina Ann Abilities
o Hysteric - Fires a barrage of mini-missiles at the enemy.
o Grapple - Fires the bayonet at an enemy, impaling them, then pulls them towards you.
+ N.B.: By using Hysteric immediately after Grapple, the enemy drawn close will be stabbed by Kalina Ann's bayonet.

That's minor stuff relating to Dante's equipment from third games as well as his skills\abilities with it.

quote:
In addition to his natural abilities, Dante has a plethora of combat skills and techniques; so many in fact that in DMC3 his move list had to be divided into specific "styles" due to RAM issues and the difficulty of putting everything into a single controller (could also be a representation of Dante still learning and developing his various skills). He is apparently an accomplished martial artist, as he shows several impressive hand-to-hand attacks during the opening cutscene that can be attributed to various fighting styles. His great, sometimes excessive acrobatic abilities and Trickster style could be a form of ninjutsu. His Royal Guard stance and the philosophy behind it (redirection of energy, using the enemy's attacks against them) is likely a demonic adaptation of the Aikido style of martial arts. Most significantly, when fighting with Beowulf's Gauntlets and Greaves, Dante's stance and techniques seem to be a personalized Jeet Kune Do fighting system, with influences from western boxing in the straight punches and uppercuts, while the ax and side kicks appear to be Taekwondo. Vergil uses an identical stance and shares some of Dante's moves when equipping Beowulf, and seems eager to fight Dante with the gauntlets only a few minutes after acquiring them; thus, one can hypothesize that if Dante was taught Jeet Kune Do, it was done so alongside his older brother, who modified his own style with a emphasis on aerial kicks rather than Dante's preference for punches.

Aside from hand to hand combat, Dante is incredibly skilled with a variety of melee weapons such as the broadsword, katana, nunchaku, and dual scimitars, among many others. It is unknown if Dante actually received traditional training on these weapons, in which case his superhuman abilities and natural knack for battle would have allowed him to master each one at a much faster rate than normal; or if his demon lineage can somehow allow Dante to instantly master any weapon he comes across and use it to its full extent with no prior experience. Either way, Dante does indeed have a very unique and adaptive fighting style, and he often makes use of his powers and skills in very inventive ways. This is evident in DMC3, were he seemed to enjoy playing around with his abilities, and using them in totally over the top, sometimes even silly, ways. The special moves associated with each weapon, however, are not Dante's, but that of his equipment. Dante uses “devil arms”, weapons that either were once demons themselves, are charged with demonic powers, or contain a demon. Dante had to earn these, either by defeating the demon, or enduring a test, as generally in order to use a devil arm, you must first prove yourself worthy to the demonic presence in the weapon. Dante's demonic blood means that he can not only wield these weapons, but he can also access and channel their powers. When using them, he can be granted a selection of new skills.

That's minor stuff abut young (DMC3) Dante in addition to major feats and stuff posted above as well as on page 5.

Dante's DMC (1) equipment\weaponry (also minor stuff and it's posted there just for general knowledge).I actually think abut creating a respect thread for Dante.

Weapons

Devil Arms

Force Edge - Dante's initial equip at the start of the game. It is the basic form of the Sparda sword, which is created by merging the Force Edge with the Perfect amulet, a combination of Dante and Vergil's amulets. It becomes obsolete once Dante obtains the Alastor sword since it has no abilities of its own and cannot be upgraded.

Alastor - A sword with a lightning elemental attack. Its name is taken from the Latin Alastores- a demon in Greek mythology also known as The Executioner. Dante gains this sword after being impaled by it. A lightning elemental weapon, Alastor's attributes focus more on speed rather than power. For all intents and purposes, it handles just like the Force Edge, but with a few perks. First of all, it is more powerful. Second, its capabilities can be enhanced by purchasing upgrades from the God of Time statues using Red Orbs. Finally, it allows him to activate Devil Trigger Mode. When Dante enters Devil Trigger Mode, Alastor grants him additional aerial capabilities such as Air raid, which allows Dante to transform to a flying demon and fling homing bolts of electricity at his enemies, and Vortex, which turns Dante into a spinning torpedo, crashing down on his enemies with great force. Dante also gains the power of lightning speed. Other abilities that Alastor can impart after upgrade include a double-jump, a long range stabbing attack, and a sword throwing technique.

Ifrit - Gauntlets that give Dante fire elemental attacks. Its name is taken from a Djinni (Genie) from Arabic mythology, a demon from Hell. Whereas Alastor grants Dante greater speed, Ifrit delivers much slower but more devastating blows. The Circle button can be held on each attack for a charge effect, causing each hit to do massive damage. Like Alastor, Ifrit can be upgraded. When in Devil trigger, Ifrit allows Dante to hurl balls of magma at his enemies, create a wave of flames by slamming the ground, and delivering a devastating pre-set combo. Other skills involve a rushing flaming kick and a flaming aura accompanying any directional jump. Dante's kicks and punches are radically more powerful and he delivers fast, devastating combos with incredible force in each blow.

Sparda - The legendary sword bearing the name of Dante's father is created from the union of the Force Edge and the Perfect Amulet. The Sparda sword changes forms depending on how it is used. Its default form is a large, cleaver-like blade that does high damage with Dante's normal attack combos. The weapon can be thrown using the Round Trip maneuver, during which time it becomes a scythe. Thirdly, when the Stinger maneuver is used, the sword becomes a long lance. The moves and combos are mostly identical to those used with Alastor and Force Edge, except that Dante cannot enter Devil Trigger when equipped with it until the final battle with Mundus (where he uses it to take high demonic form to fight Mundus as an equal or even more: in DMC 2 he's capable on taking high demonic form without any devil arms). There are no upgrades to be purchased for Sparda. This sword is later given to Trish, who wields it in DMC 2 (after initial completion on the appropriate difficulty level). Sparda is effectively twice as powerful as Alastor in Devil mode, which makes up for not having the Devil Trigger while the weapon is equipped
Guns

Ebony & Ivory - Dante's hand made dual pistols have an impressive firing rate. One appeal to them is their anti-gravity aspect. They can keep Dante in the air for a short time or his enemies for as long as he can blast them. Ebony is for distance firing while Ivory is more suited to rapid-fire attacks and together, they are deadly. These guns bear the inscription "By .45 Art Warks -For Tony Redgrave"- Tony Redgrave being Dante's name during the game's early production phase. In the first "Devil May Cry" novel, the guns' genius maker is also known to be a horrible speller.

Shotgun - A sawed-off shotgun with spreadfire and heavy damage at close range.

Needlegun - An automatic nailgun that can only be used underwater but is crucial to certain missions being that it is the only means of offense when submerged.

Grenade Gun - A grenade launcher that fires long range explosives with a slow firing rate and sluggish recovery.

Nightmare ß (beta) - A mysterious weapon that can be charged to create a multiple-projectile blast which ricochets off walls and ceilings causing massive damage. This weapon drains Dante's Devil Trigger. It is possible to use the weapon without Devil Trigger energy but it does less damage.

- Charging the nightmare (beta) to its maximum power, will drain 3 devil trigger runes.

- It does not require a minimum level of power, only 1 rune is needed to charge a little.

This weapon is best effectively used while in Devil trigger mode, since it will not drain the runes in demon form.

Too bad I haven't played Xenosaga. If I did I would then make a huge list describing all of KOS-MOS's attacks....but her cut-scene feats will do.
