Well he knew he was near water which is what he needed, but it wasn't pure. So he bent a large ball of water, evaporated it so that it wasn't salty (because since he is not a natural water bender, the purer the water the easier it is to bend for him) and then returned the evaporated water back to its normal state and stored it in a skin.
The storyline behind him is a little more revealing. His purpose most diffidently is exposed as he is somewhat there to teach the avatar the remaining lessons of bending. To reference this to the Avatar series, many deceased avatars taught Aang as well as benders on account that his "guardian" had died within the 100 years of his hibernation. It is an interesting theory as it gives my character a purpose other then simply to find the avatar.
But more so I hope that this will somehow shed light on a very troubling nature within Hazanko. His blindness does not allow him to lessen the pain of living by looking at what is beautiful. A gift many sightseers take for granted. So his existence and feeling his sight. The echo of the wind help him to see the details as his skin works as sensors to pick up echos from the items the wind touches (sort-of-kinda to the dare devil). Another thing that helps him to see is the vibrations traveling from the ground to give him an idea of the size and weight of things, their speed, and [arguably] their bending. This however I wont explain much until an actual bending battle.
I hope this doesn't ruin anything for you in regards to my character. Obviously there is still much to this campaign, and much I want to elaborate. I have a great story for him and I hope ADD from the members doesn't cause this thread to die soon. However with this being said, I would prefer no pity be given to him until you sense a form of sadness or struggle within him [this is very difficult to notice as he is a master of no emotions]. I hoped that clarified things.
We are located on the boat. Nothing is happening right now, so you can either make a post where you do something on the wooden longboat while we head for the main lands, or you can wait until we reach the mainlands, where the actual adventure will beginn
I'm blind (or my character is) so he uses the elements such as water, air and earth to see the things around him.
Metal is not "earth" it's a type of rock. And even then it isn't "true" rock. Theoretically you're right. But the bender would have to control the metal on a subatomic scale manipulating the core of the metal which science concludes is still rock (the essense if you will to the metal). Such training would take years to understand let alone perfect. It's like trying to control the liquid particles in a desert...
Bending metal trough the many centurys that have passed was considered impossible. The only one that has ever succeeded is Toph, the Blind bandit, because she is gifted with a Chi beyond normal when it comes to earthbending. She noticed that all metal, even the smallest of scrap still had minor parts of earth within it, thus' she was capable of breaking out of an entirely metal isolated cell. She was also capable of bending on top of a metal-covered Firenation boat
The only known way to maintain an earthbender was trough metal, but she broke that weakness
Hmmm. The force; use you must. Burt beware the dark side. Anger fear agression hatred. The firebenders are they. Quick to launch themselves into a fight. lol can I create a Yoda l9ike character. "The Avatar" lol not.

A long time have I waited for this, my little green friend!
It does However, I can accept that your guy can see trough the different elements and have them guide him in different ways, but I do not want him to bend waterr, since he is an earthbender. I am guessing that you mean you could bend water because it was dirt in it, but logically that would not work. The water would just spill out, as an earthbender can not grip it. The closest thing you would get in that case, would be a ball of mud, or a ball of rock containing water
Technically he is an elemental. Earth in name only. Like a nature bender. But he can only bend with the ligament that is tattooed with the element. For example, he can only bend water with his left hand. That means all the potential of bending water with a left hand is met. However water benders have their entire body to bend water with. Also he can not bend more then two elements simultaneously.
I didn't want to put that all in the bio sheet because then people would have thought I was creating a god character. In fact he is extremely limited and isn't actually a bender...
