Lol, Sagat didn't deserve any of that. I'm glad they had a 2nd fight in the UDON comic and Sagat beat the tar outta of him. O' how I wish it was canon...

Speaking of trendsetters, Ryu is also a trendsetter mainly for one reason.
His hachimaki, or headband.
With the exception of Street Fighter 2 V and most of SF Alpha 2, he is rarely ever seen without it. Who knows where he got the white one but there are two versions as to how he got the red one.
1. Ken kicks Ryu's ass in the Alpha series and gives him the red piece of cloth that held his hair back in his Hayabusa-esque ponytail.
2. In the Animated Movie Ryu gets kicked in the head and takes a serious header down a flight of stairs. Ken gives Ryu the headband to bandage his wound (I like this one better).
Liu Kang had his since MK2. Yuri Sakazaki ripped it off of Ryu (as she did with everything else Ansatsuken-related). Joe rocked his own headband in the Fatal Fury series. Akira Yuki also has one, as does Hayate, Hanzou and Fuuma, and the list goes on.

Which is just about 0% similar to a generic red band around the forehead. In fact, it is more of a mix between a headband and a forehead protector. You picked one of the worst examples to choose from my friend, especially considering Hayate is a ninja. As karate-based Ein, he doesn't even wear one. If you meant another Hayate, ignore this post.
