I've been fairly interested in getting involved in tourney's. Not too sure if I'm confident enough in my skills to go directly into one, but I'm fairly objective, and now that finals are over, have hella time. I'd love to volunteer to judge if you're still having problems with that.
Thanks tj. Hopefully ill takes you up on your offer.

Cool. First time I've ever been involved in any way in a tourney.

The rules are pretty simple, if you're confused.
Just consistently place your vote for "Team Smurph".

Alright.
[SPOILER - highlight to read]:
Welcome ladies and gentlemen to Silent Hell.. er I mean Silent Hill.
The choices the contestants made will now have consequences, some more dire than others. Those dire consequences come in the form of the butcher demons.
The Butcher demon are demons that, as seen in Silent Hill 2, Are directly linked to a person's subconcious. In Silent Hill 2 the butcher demon came in the form of Pyramid Head whom chased the protagonist James Sunderland around in the purgotory and hellish states of Silent Hill. Later on in the game James encounters a second Pyramid Head. This comes after he has killed Eddie. So it comes to our attention for each human a person has killed there is a butcher demon that chases them. Being linked to the person's subconcious they are completely unkillable and are very, very lethal to the person.
In James's case they took on the form of the old executioners as we may learn throughout the game, Pyramid Head's appearance was a variation of the outfits of the executioners from times past, who wore red hoods and ceremonial robes.
In Silent hill origins the Butcher demon appears with a not so large mask, but representitive of Travis's interpritation of the executioners, and serves the same function. In this case that of his slain mother.
So what does this mean for the contestants? Well the way it would normally run is that for each and every person that any given character had killed, dear old Silent Hill would spawn one demon that was a representation to that character of what an exectioner was. This demon would not be able to be killed by them and would be quite lethal to them.
Now the tournament started off with some mass murderers among the ranks. Trickster preist having Joker, though he is no longer a concern at this point, would have been at a disadvantage. So OUr Dear beloved host of the festivities decided to make things even, be it out of the kindness of his heart or from the darker side with a desire to see more than just the demons slaughtering the contestants, reset the body counts to 0 at the onset of this tournament of champions. He did not however reset it after each match so in this case you keep what you kill.
For each sentient person, be they superpowered or not, that any of the contestants killed increased their body count by one. The more innocent contestant who did not kill will have an easier time. Those of you however who felt the need to devalue the value of human life... will not so fortunate.
Delph, want me to explain the system to them?

[SPOILER - highlight to read]:
Continuing from the last post...
Tthe more people that a contestant has slain the greater the chance of encountering a butcher demon they purchased for themselves with the blood of the innocent and not so innocent. That's right as we see with the case of eddie even serial killers blood will taint hands if spilled.
Now while I'm sure that the contestants will have no problems dispatching pesky lesser demons. You'd best pray (heh) that you don't encounter the nightmares pulled from the characters psyches as a means to chastize them for their actions. I'm sure you'll get the point in the end of self restraint. Just because you can do something with the freedom given to you by our dearest host of hosts, doesn't mean you should.

we haven't killed anyone in any of our prep scenarios and as cresh has said, the ghosties only bother those who killed people in the tournament.
we (apparently, somehow i can't quite understand . . .) never even fired our big energy blast in the first rd of the playoff. you guys however, DID blow up everyone in a mile radius -- innocents AND necros . . . and didn't you blow up a 10 mile radius of a city against smurph . . .?

This tourney's mostly turned into an afterthought because of the lag anyway, but do we really need to resort to making arguments in this thread weeks after the stopping date, especially when you already said most of the same stuff in the match (where we actually have a chance to counter-argue)?
The match ended Blair. Have a little class.

He was responding in kind. Can't say I agree with it, but we weren't the ones to instigate it either.
And I didn't actually read Cresh's thing. Like I said, the match is over....I'm not about to get worked up over what ended over a week ago.

I'm not in the best of moods, but these things are separate and I'm adult enough to be able to deal with them detached from one another. I thought you were referring to his post above and wasn't even thinking about my other match.
As it stands, leo's obviously not concerned and is willing to chalk the whole thing up to tourney banter, so I'll follow suit and drop it.

Sorry I wasn't paying attentio nt to the "where we win instantly part."
We got a new judge and a request for clearification on Silent Hill.
And I don't think anyone should be pissed about my matches in eva's tourny... though Eva seems quite a bit miffed.
*shrugs* What's so out of character about a teenage boy that doesn't really love anything manipulating the women into lewd acts? Plus without any actual knowledge of Empath I doubt that Thor would know that the women were not acting of their own accord.

My problem was never with you. Your stuff was hilarious. The problem was with the people who initially felt it was ok to put you up 3-0 in the voting and didn't seem to have any regard for it being an actual tourney instead of an OTF thread.
But everyone rescinded their vote or changed it (except Trick... ), so all's well.

And i do appreciate the time off, so to speak, since I'll have to do more than originally planned against goober next round, so anything I can hold back at this point is a small but important advantage.
So thanks....you just need more pics to compliment your strategy now.

Well hopefully I'll create a lot of reference text for any artist that wants to draw it... Or if someone would be so kind as to list some issues of any of the characters where they look smokin' I'll track down those comics and post scans for people.
