its not just exclusives though, and i wasnt really referring to exclusives.
look at games like AvP and Modern Warfare 2 for example... AvP was a direct port that wasnt optimized for the pc at all and for awhile played like shit on PC's, and infinityward basically told PC players to go 'eff themselves.
personally i dont really care- i mean, im a console player through and through; prefer consoles in almost every way. but im just sayin, the pc gaming market is kind of going down the drain imo
i dont really think the pc game marker needs to "step it up" though, because it doesnt really have anything to do with the games that are on PC's. games that are on PC tend to almost always be more critically acclaimed then any console they also play on due to mods and graphics and stuff, and even if a pc exclusive killer app is made its not going to help sales... the truth is that as already mentioned console games sell better. as long as pc's cost a thosuand dollars just to run the game at a decent frame rate, and are susceptible to virsuses and all the other things that plague them, consoles will simply always sell more games.
starcraft 2 is one of the most anticipated games of the decade, and WoW is one of the most played games of all time... but hardly anyone ever decides to skip on buying an xbox or ps3 or wii and instead upgrade their pc to play those games. people will buy a console just to play halo or final fantasy or w/e though, for example.

I'm stuck between pre-orderin' this for the special content or buyin' Mass effect 2 and then just buyin' GoW III when it come out, wit out the armor. What should I do?

If you're a gamer who is mostly into intense action that would make your jaw drop, I would suggest God of War III. If you're into shooters with a good plot, get Mass Effect 2. If you're just desperate for a really good game, buy God of War III first.
I wanna play a NEW game NOW. I'm leanin' towards Mass Effect 2, but I don't wanna give up the armor if it's really gonna help and it's somethin' I can get only through pre-order. Does anyone know what the armor does exactly? Does all it do is boost attack power and stamina?

Well, if you buy the ultimate edition, you still get an extra skin (called "Dominus", the armor that Kratos wore in the GoW1 flasbacks when he was still a Spartan captain) regardless of pre-order or not. It's not the same as the pre-order bonus though, and I'm not sure exactly of the stats.
The Dominus costume is based on one of the concepts for Kratos. The armor he wore as the Spartan Captain is there, but Kratos is white in the Dominus costume.
An 'epic' costume really.
From every retailer? US only?
If you do want the special content: Costume, extra challenges, art book, soundtracks, documentary etc. then the answer is clear.
If you don't want the content, the answer is clearer still.

It's pretty hard to get now if you want it for $100. Your best bet is ebay or EU (and I heard they were running out too) unless you want to pay $230.00 on Amazon.
I'm glad I did this early because there is no way I'm paying $200 for one game. Hell, $100 is bad enough for me but I'm willing to do this just one time.
Hmm, well, this close to the release date, I guess it is understandable.
I'm in Canada, and I checked Gamestop.ca, and it is still available on the site for $100, unlike at Gamestop.com (US).
True, $100 is tad overpriced, but the UE comes with extras, which IMO, is worth close to the $40.
I was actually broke when went to pre-order, so I asked my parents for the money >__> (paid them back of course). Why don't you hit them (or a close relative) up for a loan?

I'm highly, highly anticipating this game, & will likely be picking it up the day of it's release. The sad part, though, is that my PS3 is currently down, so I won't be able to play it until my PS3 is fixed, though I'll just be glad to actually have the game.
I'm really looking forward to this, and it looks to be a game that'll push the PS3 to it's limits. I'm really excited to see what this game brings to the table, as the first two of the series were just superb, well thought out, and are always fun to play.
in anticipation of this game, i have re-played 1, 2, chains of olympus and downloaded the free demo, and i'm still jonesing.. then lo and behold, my ps3 broke.. bad laser! bad, BAD laser!

I got the demo today and I must say, it's impressive. The graphics and the gameplay are something to die for in God of War III. Seriously, this puts GoW clones like Darksiders and Dante's Inferno to incredible shame.
the demo was awesome. the gameplay has been improved, at least in the demo. and the graphics are way better than dante's inferno by a longshot.
they might refund you if its new or fix it for free if its under warranty. other than that, i think its $150 to get it fixed.. i'm talking about the 1st gen shiny brick house ps3, btw.. i dunno how much to fix the 2nd gen.
