Two different things. My example is him combining two powers that we know he has, thats like saying Hulk can't super jump and thundeclap at the same time. What you are saying is completely different.
The martian is far more versatile than hulk. How will the hulk defeat a super strength, shape shifting, intangibility, telepathy, near invulnerability, super speed martian? The only advantage the hulk might have is strength and even then it is debatable, because the martian is on par with superman. Let's not forget that John help Clark and Diana move the earth from the sun's gravity. He has taken on the justice league in two occasions and done well. Furthermore, if the martian doesn't want to be seen he could go invisible and rip the hulk's heart out. Or martian vision for the win.
John is near Superman's level, he can only be as strong as him by reaching his max density, and then he can only do it for a short while. Besides, Hulk will only get stronger.
You think Hulk will burn out? Only Sentry made him burn out, and that was after an intense fight. Phasing will get him pissed to a certain extent, and he will hold on to that anger, and wait until MM decides to turn solid again.
I meant after he turned solid, but like I said, if he stays intangible, I call it a win for Hulk, because MM is deliberately avoiding a battle he can't win.
No, I mean come on. You are arguing powersets and something completely out of character for MM. WW Hulk was WW Hulk for days at a time and he could change back at will.
Not really. J'onn can switch between tangible and intangible. J'onn can punch hard enough to hurt WWH. J'onn has superspeed. I've never seen J'onn combine all that in a blitz whereby he wizzes around a foe, throwing thousands of punches at levels that can topple WWH while switching between tangible and intangible between every punch, such that he's only tangible the instant his own fist reaches the target and he's intangible all other times.
Superman spent years never fighting like that and the only time he's come close was after intense training with Mongul. It's purely unsupported and its speculation.
No kidding. What does the Hulk have that remotely gives him the slightest chance against an opponent of comparable strength and durability who is way faster, can turn insubstantial, invisible, attack mentally, attack at range with heat vision while flying, etc, etc.? All the Hulk wish fulfillment and power fantasies are nice but this is a curbstomp win for the MM.
Its kind of a Catch-22 to use that argument here because, by the cough cbr cough rules here, the MM would use his speed as in "characters who have super speed will use it regardless of whether they use it every time in the comics". If this were HeroChat, different story, different set of criteria.
But then again, who am I to talk? I once got called on cbr for hypothesizing a character using a tactic that was easily within her abilities simply because she had never used that specific tactic.
So its selective sometimes and as you have said, every board has its strengths and its weaknesses.
