The process of moving characters over from the old system to the new one begins soon.
What I require is an affirmation of everyone wanting to play again as to what template their characters will be. Regardless of how much this might strain continuity, players are welcome to re-design their characters from scratch.
Most of the old templates still exist, some altered slightly or re-branded. The big losers, I am afraid, are those who chose the Scholar or its derivatives. That optiin has been removed, both to simplify the look of the system as much as possible, and also because if you want to take a force-specialising template it is fairly much only worth it if you REALLY specialise in it, else your template tends to end up looking second-best.
Here is the template list; simply state what you want to be:
JEDI
Straightforward Jedi Knights
ADVENTURER ("For over a thousand generations the Jedi Knights were the guardians of peace and justice in the Old Republic")
Experienced and multi-talented veteran
ATHLETE ("You'll find I'm full of surprises...")
Very fit and very fast, though with only a few missions under his belt
ACOLYTE ("The Force is Strong in my Family.")
Born with amazing- though passive- Force talent, carefully nurtured. Very inexperienced indeed.
VENERABLE MASTER ("Do. Or Do Not. There is no 'Try'.")
The power and responsibility of a Master- but also old and no longer at his peak
RENEGADES
Jedi who no longer take orders from the Council
RONIN ("Without the approval of the Council if I must.")
Experienced Jedi who left the Council due to issues with the way the Galaxy is run
FREELANCER ("He's got to follow his own Path. No-one else can choose it for him.")
Young and a fast learner of the aggressive Jedi arts, too indisciplined to follow the Code
VIGILANTE ("Then they should be made to.")
Became aggravated at the decline of Justice; will bring it his own way with an impressive physique
SEEKER ("I want to be the first to visit them all.")
Highly talented but also highly curious, left to find out the secrets of the Force from the Galaxy at large, not confined to the Temple
SOLITAIRE ("If you would just follow the Code you would BE on the Council!")
Qui-Gon-esque Master who, whilst highly accomplished, still has an irresponsible streak- yet also a strange wisdom. Like all player Masters, old and weaker.
DARK JEDI
Those trained as Jedi- even if only for a short while- who lost their path.
FALLEN ("I see through the lies of the Jedi. I do not fear the Dark Side as you do!)
Experienced Jedi fallen for just about any reason you can think of
PREDATOR ("Fear is my ally.")
Should never have been trained- revels in being the superior Warrior
ENFORCER ("I have brought Peace, Justice and Freedom… to MY new Empire…")
Completely disillusioned, saw more gain in exploiting the system, than protecting it
REVENANT ("I HATE YOU!")
A Jedi dealt a fatal blow, and only the emotional power of the Dark Side preserves him. Crippled but fearsome with the Force.
BANE ("As you can see, my Jedi powers are far beyond yours.")
Fallen Master- physically weak and desperate for power, but there are few on the Dark Side who can bring Mastery to the table.
OUTSIDERS
Never Jedi, these are Force-capable fringers trained by Dark Jedi or other Outsiders
MARAUDER ("Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate… leaders to suffering…)
Has taken everything the Galaxy can throw at him and survived; seen it all and comtemptuous of all
CORSAIR ("This is the end for you!")
Lives for carnage and death, and extremely good at both
BRIGAND ("If you are not with me, you are my enemy.")
Completely amoral- seeks power by violence and physical ability
ORPHAN ("If he had been born in the Republic he would have been detected quickly.")
So naturally powerful, learned the Force without a Master (hence 'Orphan') but, unguided, Dark Side temptation was too strong. Semi-trained but can do amazing things with the Force
OVERLORD ("If only you knew the POWER of the Dark Side...")
An Outsider who has lived long enough to be the equivalent of a Master. Also driven by a lust for power and survival, and also ageing, like the Bane he is a very rare breed.

Xavier will also remain a Dark Jedi, Swordsman, which is the predater right?
Although I'm glad we get to revamp our characters some because there are things I did before that I never really meant to do. Although I do mean to keep Xavier close to what he is now.
The problem with 'Blackguard' is that it often meant someone with no values, scum of the Earth type of guy. A person with no rules at all.
That's an Outsider's philosophy. They will stab you in the back, whereas a Dark Jedi is more likely to fight an honest duel with you just to prove he is better. (Or she, in your case)

So I quess Gallador will be Fallen, since the Force-specialized template for fallen Jedi is Revenant, and he isn`t one... Enforcers are thugs, right?
The former A template is flexible enough to incorporate scholar types?

As for making changes, I think I'm actually going to get some damn skills this time around. I have plenty of xp saved up as I was originally going to raise my saber skill but I don't know if I'm going to bother with that anymore.
It's probably easier if people let me know what kind of changes they want; I don't want old characters to get bogged down in character creation. We do actually have a conversion system ready to go.
Incidentally, the only reason 'Blackguard' was being used before for that trickiest-of-classes-to-name, the Dark Swordsman, is because it was what D&D was calling Anti-Paladins at the time.
(They used to be called 'Vengers' in my day).

Yup going to be a Predator fallen Jedi. That was tailor made for Xavier. Especially the honest dueling part.
And the biggest change I is get my guy's Saber Master level up and take down his Multiple Attack Blade Trick down. I never actually meant to ever need to go that high with that skill.
My intention was always to make Xavier more dangerous one on one duels then in large fights.
Ok, you are going to have to be far more general with your changes as neither of what you mentioned still exist. The system is being rebooted into a new version- though Skills are virtually identical.

Hehe makes sense. Predator just seems kind of out of place when compared to the rest.
(though keep in mind I'm generally iffy about changes at first until I get used to them)
As for changing Rianna...I don't plan to actually make any changes. I just want to use the xp I've been hoarding to up my saber skill to instead get some actual skills so that she's a bit more useful than a rock when it comes to anything but killing or sneaking.
I've been joking that, just for the amusement factor, I'd take Seduction For sure I'd spend to raise Observation and get Fix-it or something.
Well, I would like Gallador to retain as much from B type as possible.
He will be better at combat now, I assume, which is good, because he was not up to par with others. He was focused Living Force and Darkside powers specialist, I don`t know how it fits into the new system. He also had very good social skills.
By the way, do you still follow the notion that Initimidate is used by bad guys, and Persuasion by good? I think LG cops/Paladins can be pretty good at intimidating the evil-doers and Persuasion is useful the same no matter if you use it for good or evil ends( see Chancellor Palpatine).
