Ok just finished playing gow2 and I gotta say I like it.
But it so reminds me of pt. one. It's like it's almost exactly like pt. one.. Gameplay and everything; controls, with a couple of cool new tricks you can but then again I did like pt. one a lot though.
The graphics look better but it didn't really fool me. All they seemingly did was add perpetual bloom to the visuals. But it still looks nice though
I put it on the hardest level because I don't wanna beat it fast just like I did pt. one after I beat it 4 days after it came out, on medium or normal. I wanna enjoy this one...
Overall the game looks like a good waste of time. And even though it should'a been called gow1.2 this game still worth playing.
Current verdict so far is 8/10. The final score or final verdict may be higher or lower than that. But that result'll come after I beat the game.

Dude, you can fell a Boomer by just firing a few lancer clips into it's face, without even ducking into cover (and yes, I am playing it on Hardcore, and wishing I was playing it on insane.) At least in Gears 1, you had to dive for cover when fighting a Boomer.
There may be more enemies, but they are by far easier to kill.
Can anyone please explain why [SPOILER - highlight to read]: the Locust ended up fighting each other? I didn't fully understand that part of it. I got that one side was "lambent" but what does that really mean and what are the differences between the other Locust? Oh, and who thinks this is the end of the series? I personally don't, they will definately find a way to continue it, but really, the Locust are beat are they not?
[SPOILER - highlight to read]: Lambent is another word for "Glowing" and it refers to the locust who have been over-exposed to Imulsion and have therefore been irradiated.. their secondary property is to explode violently upon death
Can someone help explain [B][SPOILER - highlight to read]: Why the lambent (exploding locust were fighting each other? What the New hope foundation and the sires were for, What relevance does Adam Fenix have to the locust, Why does Imulsion mutate the locust (I thought it only did it to wretches, is it because of the lightmass bombin the first game? because I think thats the cause of rustlung)
[SPOILER - highlight to read]: Are they not all really exposed to the imulsion?? In Gears 1 they had that base right next to quite the river of it. And so then what is the "normal" Locusts problems with the lambent?? Are they not still the same species, the normal ones could actually make good use of their exploding ability, kamikaze??
That part of the story wasn't explained in detail, as well as the info regarding Marcus's father, the queen beoatch and the sire. However we will probably find out about those details in the next game. So far I am impressed with how much they improved the campaign in terms of length, story, characterization(Dom was priceless in this--though I always liked him) and most of all how they managed to make every single gunfight feel different and dinamic instead of just running from cover to cover until finding checkpoints. The boss battles were awesome too.
BTW GoW 1.2 you've got to be kidding. Someone wants to hate even when they like.
