This reminds me of two students doing a science project and when both should've worked together, one of them let the other do it by himself while the other did things that were non-related to the project and when the day came to turn their assignment in, it's the one who did all the work taking the fall and that is the relationship between Gearbox and TimeGate. If they weren't gonna put a lot of commitment into the game like they said they would, then maybe Randy and his buddies shouldn't have gotten the Alien license and just cancelled Colonial Marines when they had the chance. TimeGate doesn't deserve this. Assholes.
Gender: Male Location: In Luna's mane, chasing STAAARS!
They've been having bankruptcy issues and I think they were hoping working on Colonial Marines would be their saving grace similar to how Midway relied on MKvsDC when they were facing bankruptcy but due to poor sales and criticisms from fans, the company crashed and burned. Maybe they would've survived if Gearbox helped them. From what I hear, they barely touched it (and it's THEIR game!) before release and TimeGate was just the co-developer. They didn't have the resources like their partners. They did whatever they could and sadly, it wasn't enough.

It's not as if they are a highly successful games company. What have Timegate got to their name? Isn't it just a couple of mediocre FEAR spin-offs and now this debacle? (Just checked- ok, they have had one reasonably reviewed FPS game, of indeterminate sales. Not lighting the world in fire here) At least Gearbox have actually created something decent and successful in their time.
These things simply happen to companies that constantly produce material that is neither critically or commercially successful.

Apparently Sega wasn't very happy with Gearbox either (as GB had cost them money too), and even though they will be making more games, Gearbox don't look like they'll be involved.
So, to anyone that played this on PC, something came to light in a big way this week (even though it had been discovered earlier). It turns out that the AI for the aliens is bad because of ONE typo in an .ini file. ONE.
I read about this this morning. I hear the alien is way more aggressive and better at pursuing now. It's insane that this wasn't caught before. You'd think whoever coded would have looked at the xenos patterns and thought "I didn't program it to do that...".
