The Clock Ticks
My heart feels the sadness of your absense, my
Mind understands the emotion but cannot phatom its depth.
A Longing to be near you again; To hold you
Close, and whisper in your ear of my love for you. Of
The feeling that transcends my existance.
The clock ticks, beating a place- an, echo through time
The time between us, as short as it is, and yet
none the less an eternity. A far horizon.
The clock strikes times passage slowly, and I watch;
Counting the seconds till we are one again,
Till our heats can reach each other.
The clock ticks, as the current of time flows passed us.
Till my gaze meets yours, and we get the flourish of
Excitement that only those in love can feel.
I say all this to you; I write this poem in real time,
To tell you that until my eyes fall upon yours once more
I will be watching the clock tick time by.
The clock ticks, it's last tick the moment my heart beats.
That last moment, when my eye's see yours upon the golden
Shore of time, and I finally feel alive, as the seas crashing into rocks.
The clock ticks.

Sometimes, But Always
Sometimes I sit down
To write you a poem.
As a token,
To try to express how I feel.
But, sometimes I never finish.
I lose focus, and
Doubt is cast.
I can't decide how I feel.
But then, sometimes I remember
How I feel about you, clear
As a cold blue winters sky.
Clear as the space between the stars.
I whisper it in your ear,
Sometimes;
I love you.
Sometimes, but always.

Everytime I arise from night,

The one connected to lifes stage,
In many ways the biggest vice.
The screen, a brightness in the dark,
Harsh against my gaze.
Mesmerized by the twinkled pixel,
Brighter than the sunny ray's.
And yet I have but one, or few
Reasons to look on here.
To look for that one message,
From the one that I hold dear.
And in this time of bated breath,
In waiting of that fated ping.
My heart will leap at every sound
That this device doth ding.

I come here for that one

From afar, my friend
Have we seen each other.
A distant land. Divided by an
Ocean.
For a while, my friend
Have we known each other.
But never had we met. Divided by our
Lives.
In the past, my friend
Have we been there for each other.
Like good people. Brothers and sisters
Apart.
And time passed, my friend
Have we gotten closer to each other.
My feelings for you. Poignant, sharper in
Focus.
And we are free, my friend
Have us both been here, meeting us.
And soon perhaps. Shall we be closer than
Friends.
Now, at last, my love
Have we both sat here, blue eyes locked.
My hand gently on your face. My heart offered to
You.
Will you, dear friend
Having reached this point.
Take my hand. And cross that bridge
Between us.

On This Fine Christmas Morn
In this festive winter,
In the frozen and the dark.
By fire light, we banter,
Sat upon a frozen log.
Flames dance in our eyes,
Warming our joyful smiles.
Gently drifting snow and ice,
Settles upon the cold dirt.
Stars streak the heavens,
Trees line our view.
Tall and rustic silhouettes,
Almost as beautiful as you.
Dying in the new-dawns light,
The embers of the campfire.
I hold you in my arms so tight,
On this fine christmas morn.

The Screams: At Last
The Screams, upon this frozen night,
Echo slowly in this unbright.
Challenging their absence to times fight,
To keeping the darkness away from light.
Forgotten as they bloody seem;
Blood lusting creatures, eyes a'gleam.
Tearing flesh from soul in reams.
They've returned, at last; the screams.
T'was on this night of the chilling dead,
Dragging carcass they surely spread.
The blood soaked horde was gaining head,
As we hide from the monsters under the bed.
It took a while but now we know;
What ever we do, the screams won't go.
They'll follow till the end of all,
Till we're extinct and they've devoured us whole.
The screams.

Dying Heart
Dark about; cold winter's fright.
I fall upon this earthly night.
A heart bleeding; wronged, not right.
Left lying in the snow tonight.
This path be trodden, and yet no ruts.
Seen, my eyes: betrayal amuck.
This corpse of the fallen will have no luck.
Still lying here in this snowy crux.
The shortness of breath, infrequently quick.
A gasping lung. One would dare not pick;
The plight, the struggle the passing flick.

I sit across this pond from you;
And Look into your eyes.
I smile and stroke the water, blue

We share our day, now darker still
Orange in the dusk.

The Field Takes Its Last
The moonlight shines upon a cold
Battlefield, strewn with the bodies
Of those long lost. But they are no
Longer here. Time has passed.
The choking smolders, and charred
Remains all gone. The field is a sun-
Lit vibrancy with green and white.
A gentleman stands and gazes.
As if readying himself for an onslaught
Long since swept from time. The trenches
and steel wire that once littered the
Landscape bountiful and unrecognisible.
The whistles sound, and the gentleman
Stumbles, tears in his tired eyes. He
is helped to his feet by family, as the
Carnage of war comes back to him.
Images and feelings; memories of what
He'd witnessed. And what he'd done to
Survive. The man struggles free and steps
Foward. The last step of a brave soldier.
There is a scream, and a cry, and a shout
As the weary old soldier falls. The rain lashes
Harsh, his hands covered in mud once more.
The battle drums fade, and the field takes its last.

The Fact That I Was Killed aka Click
Upon the ground I heard the click;
My life cut short a-there.
Limbs, and fingers, bones, and pints
Of red thrown everywhere.
I would have yelped, I would have screamed,
But my lungs were torn asunder.
My body ripped apart by what my
Ears described as thunder.
I watched as others met their fates,
As my eyes flew far afield.
The reality of my fate struck me
And my consciousness did yield.
And the last thing I remember,
As I literally foot the bill:
Was my rifle, and my bayonet,
And the fact that I was killed.
