hmm. he is kind of an animal before tehy had all the eu and then episode III to make his kind more intelligent and sophisticated, and not just big bears with a primitive language. Maybe they considered him an animal?

Okay, so basically, there is no racism in Star Wars. Not deliberately. That's trying too hard.

As for Gungans (not gun guns) and Ewoks, I could care less. It's how George wanted to do it, so be it.
