He allows himself to get captured, plays possum and recovers from bullet wounds, murders mandroids with ease (more impressive than his UXM showing, since there's actual gore in this scene), senses Mariko under the armor and frees her.

He wasn't looking for Fantomex.

He tried to locate one of the Predator Xs that got loose in the city, iirc.

It turned out that Fantomex also was hunting them, that's how they met in the sewers, with Predator X already killed by Fantomex solo.
