Mordeth stared at her outstretched hand and then into her eyes "why? whats back there for me now? not you, not the life i was planning on leading. whats left for me now back there?" he closed his black eyes and knew he wanted to go back with her, but knew he couldn't, not anymore

She stepped out and pulled him into a hug. "Ill never leave you Mordeth. You need me... And as long as your alive, Ill never leave your side. No matter how much my heart aches for Ezekiel, I still love you too." She buried her face in his neck and held him close to her.
A disturbance in the balance. Ezekiel felt it. It came to him by Nex. Many humans were dying. Too many for it to be a coincidence,
He opened his wings and started flying closer to what he could feel was an absolute horror.
In some time he arrived, but too late. Everyone was dead, blood everywhere, heads decapitated. It was horrible, and threatened the balance he was fighting for. And there, in the middle of everything, he saw them. The responsible. Mordreth, and Behemoth… and Gean?
He couldn’t look in front for a minute. How could this be? How could she have participated in all of this? After what he said to her, his feelings, and the gift of knowledge he gave her. Very soon, Metatron’s words got to him. Do not get love to blind you.
Yes, he had been blind. Through all that had transpired, she was a demon, craving for blood just like any other of her kind. But now, to attack innocent humans, it could not be left unanswered. He left all sentiment of anger, sadness, and desperation. There was only justice. A power that no demon or angel alike could defeat. He knew, at that moment, he had discovered his ultimate power. He knew it, but did Mordreth know? He would soon found out…
He slowly walked to their eyes. And he spoke with a voice that could conjure nothingness, so deep it was.
‘‘Well, Mordreth, we meet again, in this blood bath that you created. You know I cannot let this crime go unpunished. You are endangering balance, and the life of innocent humans… for your passions. You will die on this day, Mordreth, Dark Enemy of the World, and know that no living ones will cry your doom that you have brought upon yourself. For the power that is imbued in me now, you cannot defeat.’’
And so with a swift movement that only Behemoth, the demon pet, could slightly perceive, Ezekiel summoned his bow and let an arrow fly. As it flew, distorted earth shattered around it. It hit Behemoth in the right shoulder, passing through his armor and hitting his heart directly, before anyone could make a move. It didn’t kill the beast, so lucky it was not to have felt Ezekiel’s sword take his soul. But he was in pain, unable to move, shouting a cry pain that destroyed a building next to it.
Unsommoning his bow, he then took out his sword, Taker of Souls. Nex has helped him craft this weapon, when he saw him studying at his library.
Ezekiel look at Gean with sad eyes, but did not cry, nor was any of his other part expressing it. Unsealing his sword, he looked at Mordreth.
‘‘Mordreth, you can summon your fire fairy to fight on your side. You'll not die as quick if you do. But know this, your final Judgment has come!’’
Ezekiel took speed, and was now running in their direction, sword up for battle. At the same time, glowing golden light covered the sky and seemingly all the air around them. But it was not a beautiful glowing light, it was terrible, full of destruction, and we could hear a thunder sound that pierced any living creature’s heart. As came Ezekiel, with a cry. A yelling that could be heard from miles. A yelling of Death itself. None who stood it front of him would escape it today.

Gean screamed and moved in front of Mordeth, holding her arms out to her sides and trying hard to protect him. "Ezekiel stop this!" She flinched as the light shone, waiting for the blade to hit her.
No matter how Ezekiel pushed his feelings he couldn't resolve to hit her. He had failed. He had failed Metatrons test to push every feeling away from him. But he had none for Mordreth. Gean had decided her side. He was going to give those two one last chance... Mordreth was able to love her, there might still be hope.
Ezekiel etherelized himself and passed right through Gean. He reappeared one meter away from Mordreth, and stuck his sword in his abdomen, to the fullest lenght. The demon felled on the ground. Taking his sword out of him, Ezekiel cut Mordreth's tunic.
''Luck has saved you on this day Mordreth, by a thin line.''
As he pronounced those words, he carved on Mordreth's chest a cut, starting from his upper left body, all the way to his bottom right. Blood spew, and then gold filled the line, and no more.
''Ever cross the line again, and I will know it. And you will die. But on this day I give you Gean, a monster, like you, so that you may have only one joy in your miserable life''.
He then leaned to whisper, only to him:
''Ever lay a hand on a human again, and I will make sure your trip to the void will eternally be pain and suffering for you.''
Those words, Nex himself said hem from his mouth.
He got back up, and walked in Gean's direction. He sheaved his sword, but slapped her in the face with the back of his hand.
''Damned creature, I should have known you were no better than the rest to commit such a crime. You are nothing to me anymore, whatever you meant to me, you destroyed it with every human head you've cut today''.
He then turned arround and started walking away.
There was much he had to think about. Of him, of his entity, of what he was supposed to accomplish. He couldn't let love get in between his tasks again.
Denying himself to turn back and look at them, the golden light surrounding everything started to compres inside of Ezekiel. With the final waves dissapearing in him, his wings opened up and he flew at such a speed that tress hundreds of yards away lost their leaves. He had to talk to the angels. Now. With all his might and speed, he flew to the dorrs of Heaven.
He felt Metatron in him. Ezekiel knew he wasn't happy. And he, tought, he bloddy hell should be. But next time... next time... it would be a kill. Concentrating, he found Metatron in him, partly fused with him. But there was a part of Metatron that refuses, because of what had transpired. Ezekiel knew that, until Metatron was fully absorbed by him, he would not have a perfect control.
---
Deep in Hell, under Gean's pillow, the golden sphere started to gently fade. Soon, its very consistency shivered.

Do not go to heaven, yet. A voice echoed through his head. It was the child's voice full of warmth and light, seek the woman at the edge of the trail, who lives at the foot of the mountain. The voice continued, If you go, I will lead you there. And then it disappeared.
Gean's eyes widened and her hand slowly went to her cheek. She shook her head and watched him go. Muttering under her breath as she slowly moved to Mordeth's side. "Ezekiel... I was wrong about you.." She closed her eyes and knelt down beside Mordeth, still whispering to herself as she wiped away tears. "This was not my doing... Ezekiel." She picked up Mordeth and returned to hell. Wearily she laid him down on his bed and quickly went to her hut. She pulled the pillow aside and took what was left of the orb in her hands.
Ereshkigal shook her head and flicked her wrist. A bolt of lightning shot from the sky towards Ezekiel. Slowly her form appeared amongst the quickly darkening clouds. "You!... How dare you! After all that I have done for you, you strike the one you love?! HYBRID!" Another bolt shot out at him. "Think back you fool. Not a spot of blood lay upon Gean. That was not her doing!" She sneered and threw two bolts at him.
Ezekiel heard Metatron in his head. With a grin, he stopped flying. A woman he said, they should see. Fine, then to the mountains he should go.
As soon as he turned he saw Ereshkigal's bolt passing right next to him.
"You!... How dare you! After all that I have done for you, you strike the one you love?! HYBRID!" Another bolt shot out at him. "Think back you fool. Not a spot of blood lay upon Gean. That was not her doing", she said.
Ezekiel was unable to move. What had he done? Soon, he wasn't sure of anything anymore. He fell from the sky and landed on his back. Very soon, a ball of darkness englobed him. He was losing his personal battle. He was going to finish destroyed, just like the other half-bred, by his own confusion. And this time, he knew, Metatron couldn't save him. But onw still could. Using his last will power, he transformed the link he had with the golden sphere he gave Gean into a portal she could take right to him, if she ever touched it. If she ever wanted to see him...
As he fell unconscious, a battle started in his head.
Mordeth's eyes opened up and looked around "where's that bastard at? how dare he attack me! where's Behemoth?" he looked down and seen that he was back in the room he deserted, back in Hell. "why am i back? who brought me here-" he loked torwards the hut and got up, his wounds almost healed "Gean? Gean, are you in there? or is this some trick played by a bastard half-breed that will die today?" he went for his scimitars but noticed they were put away, so was his trench and the rest of his clothing. "so maybe i am back. but not for long." he looked down at his chest and growled. the cuts didn't bother him, but the fact that he let it happen did. he never taken shit from anyone, not even a half-breed, and he never will.
Satan got up and looked at Ereshkigal "i'm going to go check on Mordeth. maybe he decided to stay since he has Gean now. or maybe he's still bent on killing us and the rest of the world around him" he sighed, shaking his horned head and waited to see if she would follow

Mordeth put on his clothes and grabbed his weapons, not waiting for Satan to come. he found himself pushing through the ground again, right where he last seen the half-breed. "Behemoth, come" he casummoned the creature and seen that he was healed back to its normal state "we need to hide for a bit. not from anyone, but until its time to go into another city. i'm not going back to Hell."
Satan knocked on the door "Mordeth? Mordeth! open this door!" he growled and broke the door with a flick of his wrist and looked around the room, noticing that it was empty "now where the Hell did he go? Gean? come forth!"

Gean was gone. She had crawled through the portal and was now sitting beside Ezekiel, waiting quietly for him to win his battle. She shivered hearing Satan summon her. But she resisted his call, refusing to g back.
Ezekiel sensed her presence. She had come. All was not lost. And there it was, in his head. Himself. A dark self. It was what Metatron has talked about. It was what he had to defeat. A few hours ago he reached his full potential. And now he faced his deepest darkness. He had to win.
''Gea, he whispered...the humans...''
He was crushed on the ground, and the dark self came to cut his throat with his own sword. And so Ezekiel yelled:
''Never again shall you be in me.''
And with a cry that tore the darkness inside him to pieces, so did the sphere arround him. He was visible, but weak. And he saw Gean at his side.
''Gean..'' he said panting, as he tried to get up and walk in her direction.
Gean stayed where she was on the ground. She didnt look up at him, nor did she move. She just wanted to make sure he was ok. She had heard Ereshkigals lightning strikes, and she new Mordeth was on his way. She was just going to make sure that he got to the angel's camp safely.
