I like Aronofsky as a director, but after hearing a review on BOF about the script he previously proposed for Batman, I don't want him near the franchise. His script had Bruce Wayne raised in an autoshop by two mechanics rather than by Alfred. There were some other parts to the script that were way off base too.

Honestly didnt think we'd get a film with Bane as lead villain. No complaints though, his character needs redemption after his Schumacher portrayal. ugh...
Never mind changes. Put that script in the garbage; Frank Miller was going to do some Sin City-type reinterpretation (the man has lost his bearings with Batman for years now.)
Besides, Aronofsky is turning his sights on Wolverine next.

Honestly I think we did need a villain who was physically a threat for Batman, the fact that Bane is an intellectual threat and a physical one is a bonus. I wonder if he will figure out Batman is Bruce Wayne like he did in the comics?

As long as they don't overdo the realism with Bane, this movie has my full support. Bane will be a FANTASTIC villain if done correctly.
I also want to see Batman use detective skills in this upcoming film. Batman barely used any detective skills in every Batman film so far (though they briefly touched on his detective skills in Batman Forever). It would be nice if TDKR explores the detective side of Batman more, especially now that his main antagonist is one of his most intelligent villains in the comics.

yea i hope that the realism is toned down a bit otherwise this movie will suck...i mean maybe make bane as strong as a strong man....how they can move push and pull trains and what not but make him just a little stronger then that...his venom would be his own creation of course so make it with a few imposable ingredients that would make its effects be a little more then realistic....it would be close but that's all any of these movies are...close to realistic none of them are dead on with realism so i don't see a problem pushing the envelope a little more in this one area of the movie.
He used his detective skills to figure out Joker's toxin combination in B89.
Anyway, Bane and Catwoman... What do I say? It's a "meh" group imo, because it has a rarely used character in Bane (which I'm happy about) and one of the regular rotation in Catwoman (which I really didn't want)
The concept art looks ok, but the mask leaves a lot to be desired. Doesn't say "Bane" to me...
