Did you miss that people are still saying 'Hang that *n-word*' and similar in regards to Obama even eight years later? Doesn't sound graceful to me.

But I beleive the point was to show that lack of rage trolling from Obama supporters in here.

But I never said that was graceful. So..I guess the answer to your question is "no".

I would have thought it was obvious I was merely pointing out that people on both sides aren't showing anything that comes close to grace. I apologize I didn't make this clearer. And for not realizing something is only wrong if Republicans do it.

I was adding the same time you posted, in regards to the point being made, which you seemed to have missed:

I notice the lack of epic tears from the people who didn't support him too.

Do you think that would have been commented on as well if I hadn't done it?

Interesting, how many anti-Trump people on KMC are "epic tearing" over his win? I see a few concerns here and there.

Can you point these out? I'm curious to see them.

It might not qualify as "epic tears", but this forum is currently experiencing a decent amount of butt-hurt.

Admittedly I was talking less about the board specifically. At the same time I have seen a lot of butt hurt going on here and I doubt I'm the only person who feels that way. Not everyone shows butt hurt by saying "I'm butthurt".

As for pointing out specific posts, come on man. I usually don't like calling out specific people like that. If you haven't seen what I've seen maybe we just have different opinions on what counts as epic tears.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not under the impression I'm not acting like a smug dick over this. I feel if the situations were reversed I'd be ranting about corrupt Hilary in the White House and people would be saying I was shedding tears. Certainly not everyone, but some.

So you expect people just not to care or something?

In either case, as I've said before, there are groups in the United States that have a legitimate reason to be afraid of this man. You've elected someone who seriously wanted to implement a nationwide ban on an entire religious group, who wants to gut DAPA, and who thinks climate change is a hoax invented by the Chinese. I've already received accounts of hate crimes being committed not just against Muslims, but anyone who looks slightly brown.

You just dismissing on no evidence but your own bubble (and we all live in bubbles) that people are overreacting sounds incredibly naive.

No, but I suppose I expect some consistency. For instance, if people were making a big deal about accepting or not accepting the election results, these same people shouldn't be all "Not my president!" right now. He certainly *is* their president, whether they like it or not.

Of course the excuse people are using now is "it's different because those people aren't running for president". Personally I do not feel that excuses it, but to each their own.

I don't think everyone is over reacting, but I feel some are. Peaceful protesting isn't an over reaction. Setting shit on fire and other vandalism? An over reaction. At least to me, you can feel free to disagree.

I see some people acting like the Gestapo is coming to round them up any second now. Is spreading panic really what we need now?

In my opinion some people are acting irrational. Not all of them.

Oh, and some people in California are talking about a "Cal-Exit". Again, IMO, that is an over reaction.

Pot kettle unless if you wish to condemn Trump for calling the electoral college a disaster for democracy, but in either case saying "not my president" is not the same as saying that Clinton shouldn't have conceded. The difference here was that Trump was actively inciting people to violence in the case of a Clinton victory, which would pose a serious threat to the country's peaceful transition of power; Clinton's supporters, meanwhile, have been mostly peaceful.

If I were to ask you to come up with differences in the conduct of Hitler and his supporters and Trump has his supporters at the time of their respective elections, you'd laugh, but then have much more trouble saying things than you'd expect.

Well as I just talked about in the other thread, I do see some stuff in common with Hitler and I also see stuff in common when it comes to Trump supporters in that I feel a lot are genuinely very desperate for change in the same way the German people were. I feel like if we'd treated Germany differently in the aftermath of WW1 things might have turned out so differently, but hindsight is 20/20.

I agree some of these people are going to use this as an excuse to lash out. I feel like the things that come out of Trumps mouth in the next few months are going to be especially important.

I guess when I said some people were over reacting I was thinking about how people were reacting to his proposals, but I wasn't thinking about what the more extreme Trump supporters would get up to and that was wrong.

While it might not help to alleviate many peoples fear..reports from White House staff were saying that even Obama's spirits had been somewhat lifted in the aftermath of his meeting with Trump today. So maybe he feels Trump won't be as bad as he anticipated. Though I suppose the staff could have just been lying in order to keep people from panicking.
