10.Torch is under mind control.he almost kills Miss America(the whizzer saves her),and then he has a small scrimmage with none other than namor the sub-mariner.namor hits him with a large pillar,he shruggs it off and responds by sending namor flying into the water(not a good idea).namor eventually wins, but taking that shot from him even more firmly solidifies Torch's super-human resistance and power http://i202.photobucket.com/albums/...aders_41_27.gif http://i202.photobucket.com/albums/...aders_41_28.gif
thanks again.I was suprised myself a while back when i found there were so many original human torch appearances available to me.i wanted to put them to good use
on another note: Next, Jim hammond is brought back from the grave in the pages of West Coast Avengers . Oh,and in case you didn't know, that invader series that was written in the 70's,actually took place in the days of WW2.so yeah,Jim's been in the ground since after his fight with johnny, although not really "dead".not much to show you there, after that i'll move on to his 90's limited series, and maybe a little something from Marvels(i love that artwork).Later, there's The New Invaders and then finally,Avengers/Invaders(i assume i'll get more feats from that series as the months pass.i can't wait to show you guys the one where he scorches venom.lol)
here's the last feat from his short time with the WCA.it's my personal favorite.Torch loses his powers when he is reactivated somehow after scarlet witch deactivated him(she was the one who reactivated him in the first place).Despite this, torch goes searching for one of his old foes,"the hyena".during this,he encounters a mob of his henchmen, who have weapons.he takes them all bare hands:
9.Torch jams his finger into the barrel of a nazi gun and it explodes(i assume he also killed the soldier, since he says, "I'm ashamed to say i didn't much care that there was a human being on the other end".)After this,a man attempts to slay jim with a sword, which melts on contact with his body.then, someone attempts to kill him with a flamethrower.yeah........a flamethrower: http://i202.photobucket.com/albums/..._Saga_04_18.jpg
Here's the origin of Jim Hammond as told in the pages of Marvels. i love this artwork.it's the best origin story for the orginal human torch,if you ask me.(oh and btw,it's not a whole issue):
Jim Hammond engages Namor the sub-mariner once more in the pages of Marvels #1.it's actually a recap of a fight between them in the golden age that i missed(i know i've seen it,i just can't seem to find it):
Next up,Jim teams up with the new invaders.this is the last series he appears in before his death(in the last issue). After he left the WCA,he lead the heroes for hire(although powerless),then after that,he took over the the V-battalion for Citizen V before ending up with the invaders. His power is slowly coming back in this series, and he adopts a new costume.
1.Torch enters a conflict area of the new invaders as he is invited by it's leader(thin man).at the time,he's still apart of the V-battalion.His helicopter crash lands when attacked by flying enemies, and although torch is injured in the blast, and he has lost his ability to fly along with his full power of flame,he proves himself to still be useful: (please log in to view the image)
2.Torch takes out multiple enemies with his flame(which is now like pink for some reason).it appears he has lost the ability to envelop himself in flame.also note the fact that his flame appears where he wants it to,instead of him just shooting flames at a target.i smell pyrokenesis:: (please log in to view the image)
4.Torch meets Tara,A synthetic android based on himself.he has a certain affinity for her and later comes to think of her a a daughter of sorts: (please log in to view the image)
6.Torch is angered by the way they treat Tara, him being an adroid himself. They leave her undressed,he orders them to get her some clothes: (please log in to view the image)
