torch is a beast, but not unexpectedly, thor going all out proved too much to handle(hammond simply lacks the durability to take attacks of that caliber)........still, i'd like to point back to a time where hammond blocked that same god lightning which ended him with a fireball: http://i202.photobucket.com/albums/..._Corps_2_02.jpg
I just decided to show these torch/namor encounters from the golden age...........being a huge fan of namor i had previously declared these too disgraceful on his behalf to be shown, back when i was showing golden age feats......but this is the hammond respect thread, not namor's, so here goes nothin:
Namor begs hammond for his life on both knees........according to namor, "Ceasar had his Brutus, Napolean had his Waterloo, and I have, The Torch" (please log in to view the image)
The answer to a 70 year old mystery! Why the torch flames up
"The Torch's body cells accumulate heat energy and use it to mimic the processes of life. They were meant to be the engine that powered him--and made him move. Insert footnote. Combustion almost certainly no more than a side effect" (please log in to view the image)
According to Henry Hellrung of The Order, one of Namor and Torch's old-time brawls caused"pound for pound and dollar for dollar as much damage as the attack on Pearl Harbor" (please log in to view the image)
The Torch is freed from the thinker's direct control, but apparently has lost most or all of his ability to express or feel human emotion......very much like a plight the 2nd vision endured once(ironic, seeing as jim is the vision, technically) (please log in to view the image)(please log in to view the image)
there Hammond goes again, throwing around strict commands with a stone-cold face as if he already knows his opposition can't win......much like in Avengers/Invaders........what I'm wondering is will he be just as uber. (please log in to view the image)
Pretty good physical durability/flame endurance feat......mind controlled Namor suckers Hammond good and he flies into the water.....he swiftly returns to do battle, apparently unharmed and without even having to reflame(in this whole series he's been showing high resistance to water). Can't wait to see how this plays out (please log in to view the image)(please log in to view the image)
Stopping in to say hi, off the road for the holidays.
Great work in this and the Namor thread.
Loving the hell out of the Torch series, brilliant stuff.
Hey anyone else, and coal in the stockings off those still trolling
and making messes off threads. Keep it neat like namorsubby
people.
