prologue
She stood at the edge of a city at the edge of the sea. The fact that this was her first time seeing the ocean escaped her. Here where the desert and the city met was where her trials would first begin. She was no warrior, no fighter, no soldier nor even a mage, or one to weave spells. She was just a woman, a mountain girl, a goatherd who had left that all behind in the persuit of her love. She was simply a woman who had it all and lost it to the desperate hands of bandits. Those bandits would soon learn that even gods had no greater wrath.
