Gender: Male Location: Welfare Kingdom of California
I give it a decent prop to this sequel for building tension and suspense (just like first one). This is why I can't be too critical of this game. It's a good game...just didn't meet my expections. Definetly a game eveyrone should play.
Gender: Male Location: Living my life, fighting my war.
Hard mode is relatively hard in the beginning, but gets easier. The overall game is easier than Bioshock. and it took me 4 days to beat (Picked it up on the 9th and beat it on the 13th)
I'm experiencing this game-breaking glitch. I can't stop the diaries. conversations are skipped. I basically just walk from point A to B without any motivation/reason. Which sucks.
Still a great game. I love little sisters "look daddy they are dancing!"
I managed to complete the game in a day on easy mode Was trying normal mode and then my damn xbox broke, but gotta say the first fight i had with big sister on normal mode was simply amazing, I loved it! We were both going at like crazy people, I was throwing everything I had at her and she was...well literally throwing everything at me, I neally lost but managed to get some money and get to a hacked health station, and then I think I killed her with my drill or shot her. But damn she was a hard one, on easy it wasn't too bad but then you go on normal and its sooo much better and more bad ass
Drill>>>>>>Wrench. In terms of combat, that made this game better than the original for me, since in both games I pretty much only used the melee weapons.
Liked the Gathering aspect, added more variety to how much of an asshat you can be, using the Little Sister to gather ADAM, then harvesting her for lulz, though I played the "good" route this time around. I found the moral system to be a little better this time around.
Honestly, as a villain, I felt Sofia beats Ryan. For one simple reason... Ryan was so ungodly awesome I could not bear to dislike him at all, compared to Lamb who was an unlikeable ****, which is not surprising seeing as she is essentially the anti-Ryan and therefore anti-awesome. Her goals were far more monstrous and despicable as well, Ryan was a man who in trying to protect his idealistic utopia, sacrificed the very ideals it was founded upon. Lamb wanted to [SPOILER - highlight to read]: sacrifice her own daughter's personality and free will via implanting the memories and abilities of everyone in Rapture inside of her. So while Ryan is the better character, Sofia succeeds more than him in being an unlikeable villain.
I feel this game's plot had more emotional backing, I found myself actually giving a shit about the relationship between Eleanor and Subject Delta, though the first game had better pacing, characters, and I was disappointed by the lack of a twist this time around. Though IMO the endings were better.
Easily comparable to the first game aesthetically, but it did not really do anything the first did not. For most of the game, I just felt like Jack with a drill, except the final two or so hours, otherwise the game was largely similar.
Still though, one of the best games I have played on the 360, as was the first.
The first one has the wonder and mystery - Rapture was such a new type of setting; the style, the look, the feel, the sounds. It looked unlike anything else. That's what made the first so amazing, along with outstanding level design.
The second has a lot of the same outstanding level design, I think (not as good, but very strong) but it's missing the sense of wonder and discovery that made the first so amazing. Plus the characters in the first are just on another level.
Prefer the melee weapon in this one, drill pwns wrench So far I know the good ending, and the bad ending...but not the neutral ending..found the bad ending on wiki
All endings (for those who don't wanna know what it is then don't watch the vid):
I also feel that if the developers followed a different structure on how to tell the story and how to present the setting then the problem of feeling exactly the same would of been gone.
All the characters are carbon copies of the previous game.
Sinclair - Atlus
Lamb - Ryan
The story was told exactly the same with audio dairies and both characters making you move on. One is good, one is bad.
Overall, its a well designed game and would of been a classic if released first but it was not. I don't think it was better than the first technically either, which I feel a sequel should be. Lastly, there was a only a few instances that I feel a sense of awe in the game where in the first, 3/4 quarters of the game was awesome.
I noticed a lack of detail in small stuff like newspapers and items. In the first game you could actually read certain letters and even sentences. Here all you get is a blurry mess. It is nitpicking, but the difference is there. Also certain textures do not look as sharp.
But the difference isn't really that big, and not really bad. Its just somewhat wrong to see a sequel to look a little bit worse than its predecessor. I think it happened for the improved gameplay...but I dunno.
BTW what was your fav. weapon? I became addicted to the drill. Slamming into people with freeze drill never got old.
There were some sections where they were no textures whatsoever. It was hard to find but when I looked at them they took me out of the game.
Also, on the PC, the sound was shit in some cases. The weapons were way underpowered when I shot them and the guy's grunt was way to overpowered when he got hit.
Also, alot of directional sounds were screwed up. If I looked at one thing, I couldn't hear another thing.
Now that Ive played a few levels, I gotta say this game is pretty easy. Maybe I shoudve done hard mode from the get go. I like that there are more tonics this time around. The bad thing with that is that it makes the game too easy. Also, there seems to be a Vita Chamber at every corner. If im fighting a Big Daddy, I dont care if I die because ill get re-spawn close by and he'll have the same amount of life left. Im on level 5 now so hopefully it'll get a bit harder.
