Carolyn Lewis Poe's Poetry...
This is just a little place to spread some of my poetry. You'll all think it sucks probably but...oh well. Here is a starter piece I wrote...
The Last One Standing
Carolyn Lewis Poe (my pen name)
The Keeper of The Horn looks out over the land.
The magic of the Unicorn he keeps in his hand.
Searching are his eyes and frequent are his calls,
Wondering where the Unicorns are, if they are at all.
They have become less abundant the Unicorns have,
All because people have forgotten how to laugh.
They forget how to use those things called imaginations,
They fail to see its thrills, adventures and wonderful sensations!
"If only!" cries the Keeper, lamenting at their loss.
"If only the people would learn to dream! But no, imagination they toss!"
They are so few today, and that they say, is why so few are truly glad.
If people will use it and start to believe, then the Last Unicorn shant be so sad.
But still…
