Any news on the original topic? Didn't they learn from Jessica Alba that it's a bad idea to hire a bad actress who looks nothing like the character?

1. Beyonce is sure as hell not good enough of an actress.
2. There could certainly be a black Wonderwoman in a film version (As the Amazons aren't based on an particular ethnicity), but I can't think any current black actresses that I know of to fit the bill for the WW character type.
So I vote we with a closer typical physical match for now.
3. I don't think Wonderwoman leading a full featured film could hold my attention for a couple of hours. The comicbook Wonderwoman is 40% eyecandy, 20% flash and 30% character.
She's better suited as a supporting character in an epic storyline....than as a movie lead.
uh...My point had nothing to do with the Hulk? (Which didnt really hold my interest either other than the fight scenes.)
IMO the Hulk character isn't meant to lead a feature film either...unless its would go something along the lines of something like the Planet Hulk or World War Hulk series.
So I agree, as you are actually making my point...Thanks.
I'd watch a well-written epic storyline featuring multiple character involvement over a single superhero's storyline. But it really comes down to if its well established, written and paced.

Hulk had a live action TV series that went for years, multiple animated series, and two feature films - though the second one was a better creative success. He's got a legacy as a leading character, and can carry a feature. Pick a better example.

Not necessary.
In general tv series are much better structured than feature films. They are created to leave with occasional cliffhangers and 2 parters. They have much more time to setup and develop characters and storyline.
If you recall, Wonder Woman also had a fairly well recieved tv series (although a bit cheesier than the Hulk series).
They both still need major story arcs and great actors/characters to work in a film.
My point is that feature films averaging a couple of hours don't benefit from the more extensive character setup of a series and either need to be handled very well or have epic engaging storylines to really work.
For instance I'd kill to see something like Kingdom Come translated into an epic film. I am sick of origin films like Spiderman 1, Fantastic Four (1st film) etc. I want a film to just pick up on the story and let you figure out the characters along the way if you aren't familiar.

You know who hasn't worked on the big screen, is The Punisher. They've tried three times, and just keep striking out. He's someone who needs to go to cable TV; better way of exploring him and his everyday life.

Yes. Marvel has only done some TV with Blade, recently.
Punisher has to compete perception-wise with other cop films, and has no flashy power gimmick to distinguish himself from superhero films.
You can do long running stories on TV; explore him that way for a change.
