Jackson made the second best saga of all time.
Lucas made the best saga of all time.
Why should Jackson take over what Lucas made better ?
There are a lot of things I do not like in Star Wars. I could make a very long list. Still it is the best saga/movie of them all.
I find it much harder to find failure (things I do not like) in LOTR (okay, when i watched them for the second, third time etc. I find all the Frodo stuff a little boring - I didn't when I watch them the first time). Seems that Star Wars is just a better story with stronger characters. Jackson is great, but could he has made Star Wars better. We don't know, but I don't think so.
I have just watched LOTR again. Why didn't they just send an eagle out to throw the ring in the volcano ? The eagle could just carry it in a back or something.
But Jackson didn't write the story.

Point is? If Lucas had not written the PT, it'd been much better films?
I think adapting LOTR to the screen was a hell of a job, but true, you don't have to invent the story. You still have to tell it well though.

I know this is EU Queeq but I just landed two copies of Splinter of the Mind's Eye! 1 dollar each at a second hand store. One of them has a variation, the title's text is red, and it is the paperback version.

Right, I also scored the three original paper back novels.
One time I had a customer that told me he had all 6 of the original books, and he said at the time Steven Spielberg had no idea what he had on his hands, lol.
Sometimes it is best to nod and smile, otherwise I would have to explain a lot to that guy, lol.

Looks like it was filmed during the revolutionary war. Shame they didn't have CGI back then.

It was okay, you must bear with the technology they had in the 1700s thought for filming.

I wanna try though - i wanna see if the novelizations made the "experience" better, or if they're just... bad.
but yeah - i have the movies, have watched it so many times... so why bother, right?
