Disagreed, the guy has NEVER made a decent point, any points that could be seen as decent are thing's he's plagiarized from some MMA forum.

Pointless discussion imo. It's entirely depending on your personal preferences.

Oh, he definitely didn't bring up anything new of course.

I'm just saying, he'd get way more consideration if he'd trim down 90% of his ideas. He'll basically take a valid premise(10%) and jump to wild conclusions(90%) for the rest of the post.

Then there's the "Anderson threw an illegal knee" BS. It's hilarious because he is factually wrong and can't see that somehow.

Or he's trolling.

The fact of the matter is that Chael let Anderson win. Sorry Anderson nut huggers.

Not sure what the TC meant by better sport but I find boxing more entertaining to watch than MMA.

In terms of entertainment, that's a matter of opinion. I'm a fan of both.

However, MMA fighters are overall superior to boxers because they are more versatile and less one dimensional.

The best boxers in MMA are never going to be as good as the best boxers in professional boxing when you're talking about pure skill with their hands, but they make up for it by being skilled in other disciplines (muay thai, BJJ, wrestling, etc).

I'm sure this has been said 100 times in this thread, just bored right now.

Also to people saying Anderson cheated his way to win in the rematch with Chael... that's taking it a little too far. Sure, he grabbed the shorts, but that's not exactly going to prevent Chael from pushing forward for a takedown. Anderson stuffed a couple good takedowns from Chael without grabbing the shorts as well. People put too much emphasis on the shorts thing.

Who cares now, Silva's been dethroned, he's old news.

I can understand you picking Fedor over Silva in terms of the GOAT, either answer is fine and a strong argument can be made for either one.

But come on now... Anderson Silva would wreck Chuck Liddell. Chuck has like no advantages in that fight.

Wrestling, power, durability (talking Prime Chuck, of course).

Chuck only used his wrestling to keep the fight standing and didn't really have much of a ground game. If the fight went to the ground, Anderson would submit him. Anderson has also dealt with much better wrestlers that have much better shots, such as Chael Sonnen.

Chuck may have more pure power but he can't use it like Anderson can, Anderson has caused many very durable fighters to fall to the floor in pain.

Those advantages are the same ones that Dan Henderson had over Silva, but they didn't mean much.

Here's Dan's attempt at an overhand on Silva:

Chuck was a good fighter but he had many holes in his game that Silva could exploit. Chuck got outboxed by Rampage, Anderson would crush him.

Then you must not have seen many of Chuck's fights. Chuck has one of the highest TD % efficiency in the sport's history. He's taken down Overeem, Shogun, White, Wanderlei, Franklin, and was taking down Pele, a guy who was 2-0 over Anderson in Muay Thai, at will. smile Chuck wasn't stupid. He wasn't afraid to throw in TDs in order to mix up his attack.

And please. Let's not pretend that Anderson would submit Chuck on the ground. You're overblowing Anderson's prowess. Chuck has had guys like Murilo Bustamante on top of him (one of the best pure BJJ guys in MMA of all-time), and he still popped back up to his feet.

I don't understand what you mean by saying that Chuck can't use his power like Anderson. If Chuck hits you on the chin, you're going night-night.

Except Chuck is a much more versatile striker than Dan, and his reach is 5 inches longer.

Anderson isn't a perfect fighter either. He may be one of, if not, the most efficient fighter of all-time, but there are still holes in his game as well. And if you're referring to the second Rampage fight, Chuck's better days were behind him. I'm not saying that because he got KO'd, but because he looked like a shell of his former self even in the second Tito fight.

Whenever Chuck did take a fight to the ground, most of the time he'd take the points and stand right back up. He doesn't have much of a ground game, Anderson would submit him. And also, Chael Sonnen has a much better power double than Chuck Liddell and is just generally a better wrestler. Chuck's wrestling wouldn't be a threat to Anderson, really.

Pele allegedly beat Anderson twice, but that was when Anderson was very green and relatively inexperienced. Prime Anderson is 10x the fighter that Pele was. It's also worth mentioning that Pele knocked Chuck down with a head kick.

I'm not saying that Anderson would be attempting to hold Chuck down and look for submissions, I'm just saying that if Chuck was able to get the fight to the ground and wanted to grapple with Anderson, he would get submitted.

I'm saying that Anderson is much more accurate and knows exactly where and when to hit his opponents, his timing is much better than Chuck's and he knows how to set his strikes up better. Overall, Anderson is a much better striker.

Chael Sonnen has an excellent chin and has taken huge shots before and walked through them, but he folded like a cheap suit when Anderson hit him with this little shot:

(please log in to view the image)

Anderson did something similar to Forrest Griffin. Forrest took some huge shots from Rampage and was never finished, yet Anderson finished him with a light jab while pulling backwards.

(please log in to view the image)

Anderson rarely puts 100% into his strikes, but he knows exactly where and when to hit his opponent, so they crumble. This also means Anderson takes longer than most to tire.

Chuck does use more kicks than Dan but all they were really concerned about was landing huge shots and are only successful at it when they fight a guy who doesn't have very good movement or defense. Chuck has a longer reach than Dan but he's never been a guy to use his reach to his advantage.

Of course, no fighter is perfect, but Anderson is just a bad match-up for Chuck Liddell.
