The Great Beast Tanaraq, simply because it's awesome, and it's voice was described as awesome as well. Plus if it weren't so deadly, it would make some small girl very happy with it's cuddliness.
Surtur. I think the great gods of the MU are beyond the Great Beasts (local pantheon), maybe even Zeus is if he's treated as a peer to Odin.

Not flat out ignored ... they were shown being severely pwned in a single panel shot in one of the Avengers comics recently.
It was either by Morgan Le Fey or Chthon(sp?) ... can't remember which as they are both currently pwning everyone at the same time in separate story arcs.
Also, OF were the main story-arc in the first 12 issues of "Marvel Comics Presents".

We don't know how powerful the Great Beasts are, we just know they are actually much OLDER then the Greek/Norse gods and even older then the Earth itself. Their the presonification of death on Earth when it was first commencing alive and control death and decay itself. One great Beast actually was killing gods with ease that were hurting Demogorge and if you know him that's a HUGE feat.
Yeah it was Mighty Avengers, and it showed a panel of them being attacked by Chthon as he was affecting the world. They were only showed because Scarlet Witch took USAgent away. They were also ignored during other world events going on.
Naaaa...not OF just Guardian, the other members were not really shown. That's two stories in like how long since Omega Flight ended? Oh and BRB has since returned, but they never explained how he escaped or even made mention where he was
Surtur can create a new army relatively easy though.
All he has to is infect one person and that infection will spread to almost anyone, like we saw before Odin killed himself in Thor v2. And these troops were capable of fighting Hercules, BRB and Kurse.
