It's funny how now matter the amount of times you break the argument down, there's always a fool or two who simply do not get the point of why people don't agree with this adaptation.

It's not often within my hands, Imp.

But I feel that would be more suited to a detailed PM than to get into it with you here, if you're curious you can PM me.

Thanks, though.

I too don't like the costumes... and Jon's crystal palace (I think they should have stuck to the original design) other than that looks ok

C'man, of course Ozy's would have nipples.

Indeed, it looks interesting. I'm especially looking forward to seeing Dr. Manhattan.

It won't necessarily be a disaster. I'll almost certainly watch it, at least. I just hope that they assume a fair amount of intelligence in the viewer and don't dumb the film down too much. It had better at least stay true to the spirit of Watchmen, even if parts must be cut out, which is, I suppose, understandable.

Why are people talking about staying true?

The fact that this movie is being made is not staying true to Watchmen.

I have a question(please don't get all butt-hurt over it, I'm genuinely curious):

Why is there such a "snobby" attitude pertaining to this movie? Let me explain. Maybe I have to read the novel, I don't know, but it sounds to me like people are treating this like The Bible being put on film by Joel Schumaker. Why can't it just be another comic book movie? If it's good it's good, if it's not it's not. What I gather is that people like seeming intellectual by liking/knowing the novel and they don't want their Holy Grail sullied onscreen. "I just hope that they assume a fair amount of intelligence in the viewer and don't dumb the film down too much." Why is this statement necessary? Are the Watchmen Bio-engineering professors or something?

PEACE

It's a good and intelligent comic. I guess it's that people just don't want what they liked in it to be dumbed down to appeal to the greater masses. Kinda like how some people would object if a movie version of Ulysses would star Chuck Norris and be about Leopold Bloom roundhouse kicking his way through Dublin.

LOL!!!! OK, great explanation. Thanks.

That would be a great movie with Chuck Norris though!

Why do people insist on commenting if they've not read the book?

Hey, even if this film's a complete disaster, at least we'll get to see Alan Moore go a little bit crazier, which sounds pretty crazy.
If you can get crazier than worshipping a Roman snake god which you confess is in fact a 'complete hoax'...
Crazy old prick/ genius...

2 reasons:

1. Free Speech
2. This is Killer MOVIES.com, not Killer BOOKS.com, and I want to see the movie based on the trailer. That's why I'm asking questions.

OK, now I'm not happy. Apparently, a game will be released. Some kind of 'prequel' to the film with Rorschach and Nite-Owl as playable characters. Oh dear...

Then ask objectively, don't ask in a negatively tinged post that suggests those of us pissed off at the movie are wrong, or overrating the book, when you have no knowledge.
