So...I'm watching this Soul Eater thing...and I gotta say I'm pretty impressed how Black Star went from being annoying to such a fawking boss in like two episodes.
Will be reading this after I get done with the animu.
You should definitely read it after the anime. The manga is identical up until chapter 37 of the mange and episode 37 of the anime.
If nothing else read it for a particular fight of Black Stars. Easily one of the best, if not the best fight I've read in a manga. The anime butchers it though, lol.
Neph, since you've read it, serious question: Does Soul ever stop sapping all enjoyment out of the series? His character is literally that of a very loyal dog at the moment. I mean people think Ichigo's boring but **** me Soul is just dull.
Oh ok, no he doesn't really get much better, except for one Big Damn hero moment. Luckily despite being the title character Maka is the actual protagonist and Soul barely ever does anything.
Crap. And I like Maka. She was basically my favorite character from the word "Go." But when I start reading things like "I'll become as strong as you Soul" I roll my eyes. Soul's just sooooo boring.
My favorite Maka moment is a bit from early in the manga where she's having trouble cutting through something so she just ****ing headbutts her scythe until her foreheads bleeding to cut through.
She may seem like a bookworm but Maka is pretty damn hotblooded.
Did not like Star at all. Even after his whole genocide backstory I was all "Well it doesn't seem to bother him and just gives him a reason to try, which I guess is admirable." And then he just had the shit kicked out of him just waiting for Tsubaki to finish her fight and I was all "What a badass."
"The Daemon lied with every breath. It could not help itself but to deceive and dismay, to riddle and ruin. The more we conversed, the closer I drew to one singularly ineluctable fact: I would gain no wisdom here."
