It's blockbuster entertainment, and thats all it wants to be. Just like Gears, Just like Halo. You make it sound like thats a bad thing. And as for the "generic" story, it's a freakin WAR GAME , you = good, them = bad, KILL---THEY---ASS, and thats EVERY war games story , don't try and pretend it isnt. Personally you sound like someone who's read about the game and not played it, otherwise you wouldnt have included the split screen comment, this isnt Goldeneye, Split screen gaming is sooo 90's dude!! eek!

It's not meant to be. The 1st player game is really an after thought. It's all about the online play. Which, given the huge amount of people and the near perfect design of the maps (in CoD4) was far more fun and far superior than the other big games (at least on the 360 that I play it on) such as Halo 3, GTA IV etc.

BUMP, it seems according to IW and the official website, there will be NO dedicated servers for pc.

Wow they really dropped the ball on this one, now MP is going to be super lag especially if we live out side the US.

Interestingly this no dedicateded servers caused a MASSIVE up roar on the official website abd at least 15-20 other websites.

IW severely raped the pc gamers this time round.

i always wondered that myself. cod4 looks, sounds, and controls way better on pc than on the consoles yet it cost $10 less than the ps3/360 versions.

Its either infinity wards or activisions retarted decision.

They jack up the PC price and cancel out dedicated servers. Looks like i won't be playing multiplayer due to the insane lag seeing that i don't live in the states but halfway across the world.

Whats even more hilarious is that mr robert bowling claimed the pc multiplayer will always remain the same only to tell us there will be no dedi servers.

Now im starting to think treyarch treats pc gamers better.

Hell even officials from DICE and EA sympathize with us and promised us dedicated servers in the upcoming battlefield BC2.

Because developers don't pay any licensing fees for games on the PC.

im quite a noob when it comes to pc network/server stuff, why is this such a big thing? 'no dedicated servers' i mean, there's a host migration thing that will stop games ending early when someone leaves. But what else is the problem of no dedicated servers?
