1-5 on the roll means intiative goes to your attackers. The thugs collectively get some good rolling done against the mercenaries, dropping a significant number of them, which is bad news. Densk comes under fire from three thugs and a Taskmaster, for which he taps Reflection, scoring three kills! The Taskmaster still gets him for 4 damage.

Medraud tries a Marksman tap against you as he lines up an impressive shot. You lose your Eye of the Storm Parry because you've put away your blaster to prep the grenade, but between your cover, Delfedd's Armor, and Coordination, you only take 2 damage. He isn't happy about that...

Medraut puts down covering fire for one of the Taskmasters (the one Vear shot at) and his brother.

Your turn! You come running out of cover to throw yourself behind more in the middle of the warehouse. The grenade is primed. Delfedd comes with you and lays into the Taskmaster. Focused Guard means he only gets successes on 5s and up, so he scores 7 damage on two successes.

Densk skillfully disposes of the Taskmaster who shot at him then moves along the upper level alongside you. Xeth and Kosta go on a killing spree with Carnival taps, getting six kills between them. Vear rattles on at a different Taskmaster.

So can I throw the grenade at the thugs on the far side balcony at the thugs?

What does a grenade actually do?

And am I in cover or can I get to cover?

You can, grenades function like a Heavy Weapon but I am allowing you to make it a Force Attack since you are guiding it, and you are in cover.

Completely forgot to do rolling for the Taskmasters (sans one) and your Mercenaries last turn! The three Taskmasters dispose of mercenaries, leaving ten of them to fire back and move into cover at Vear's behest. They blast down five thugs in return.

Initiative to the bad guys again. The Taskmasters take on Jedi this turn...
except Densk's, as he has tapped Charge to act first and run him through. Delfedd takes 5 damage from a shot he narrowly deflects, and the third picks out Densk but misses.

Medraut and Medraud dislike you and Delfedd's advance. Delfedd handles this expertly; he elects Medraut with Focused Guard's Parry, so when Medraut rolls four successes, one is ignored. Armor then reduces the damage to 6 as he deflects away the rapid shots. Con gets the same treatment with Medraud. Cover and Focused Guard give a working +2 Parry, and that is actually enough for Medraud to miss entirely as bolts explode against the table Con is using as cover, rather than against Con.

Con let's fly a grenade! Three successes is two kills as he Pushes the grenade into the thugs. Not very effective but two kills is two kills. Vear rather promptly shows you up by snapping to his undercarry weapon, blowing away four thugs with a proton grenade.

Xeth and Kosta have dropped their blasters and moved forward. Delfedd attacks the Taskmaster with a simple blow tha burns him, then Kosta and Xeth both run the poor guy through in a display of overkill.

The mercenaries have lost their thunder; they only blast two thugs this turn.

Check on grenades: Don't try again.

Well, I guess I'll put in my last sabre schtick, then I'll advance to the far side where i'll hit a taskmaster and then dive into cover with charge.

Oh I thought you said I could use the last two rounds to put blade schticks in, cause I didn't need the gun schticks?

Okay, cool, then last round I put in orthodox guard for CoC and this round Charge for Eagle Eye and then I'll do what I said.

You won't quite make it to cover if you attack the Taskmaster. Going through with your approach?

6-3, initiative is back in your court.

Above, Densk goes whirling through a pair of thugs. You come dashing out of cover with your lighsaber activated and move for the Taskmaster. You roll 8 successes, culminating in 14 damage to him. Delfedd moves in alongside you and cuts him down. Kosta and Xeth go for the thugs around you.

Vear puts a grenade up toward the balcony but this time does no good. His mercenaries claim two.

Their turn starts with more thugs led by Taskmasters appearing all over the warehouse... and that bounty hunter you went up against earlier! He aims that weird sonic weapon of his at Vear, sending a shockwave down at him for 5 damage and Stunning him.

Densk falls under attack from reinforcements and struggles with them.

On the far side, the thugs split up their attacks, the Taskmaster goes for Xeth, Medraud goes for Delf, Medraut goes for Con. However, Delfedd benefits the Jedi by tapping Focused Guard and Bodyguard, meaning everyone gets the defensive bonuses! Team Jedi is missed almost entirely- Delfedd, in frantic blocking, neglects himself for a moment and takes a measley 2 points of damage.

The Twins are not liking this one bit...

----

SYNDICATE SHOOTOUT, Start of Turn 5

Warehouse- Near Side

Vear (HW8): 1(1PR 2A)/5 [10B ES KB] (2F) (Stunned)

Syndicate Taskmaster (G8): 0 (on balcony)

Syndicate Thugs (G5) x3 (on balcony)

Warehouse- Far Side

Con (G8): 3/2 [OGu CH ES] [CC EE BL] (7F)

Delfedd (LS10): 3(1A)/13 [OGu BL BG] [FoGu] (5F)

Xeth (LS11): 1(2A)/0 [BGu PS CH] [CG CC ES] (6F)

Kosta (LS12): 2(2A)/0 [BGu BL PS] [FGu CL CC MK] (5F)

Syndicate Taskmaster (G8): 0 (on balcony)

Medraud (G15): 3(CC)/0 [BB CG CF] [MK CC] (2F) (on balcony)

----

Syndicate reinforcements will be moving into the area every two turns at a trickle. You can sense the Malik moving out of your grasp.

"Kosta, you need to help Densk and Vear" Con orders "Xeth, Delfedd get to the balcony we need to get to the Malik"

Con will jump up to the balcony, tap charge (option a plus 6 dice) and orthodox guard and attack Medraut.

And get to cover, if possible?

Switch OG out for Dodge and Weave.

Con, followed by Xeth and Delfedd, come bounding over the railing to do battle with the Thieving Twins and their thugs! And Con isn't messing around- with Orthodox and Charge tapped, he is running a fourteen dice attack on Medraut. You roll twelve successes for an ungodly 18 damage to the thief as he falls back in alarm. The lightsaber burns across his front nonetheless.

Delfedd follows your lead and goes after Medraud. He spends a Force point and taps Block as he goes into a Flurry, striking rapidly with his lightaber. Three successes is 18 damage.

Xeth uses Defensive Leap to mount the balcony. Kosta clear a pair of thugs below with a two-sword flourish and Densk does the same above with a wide slash.

Vear hits the bounty hunter and the Taskmaster with a grenade despite being stunned, though the hunter takes it very well. The blast kills one of the thugs, and Vear's men kill the other. The hunter responds by trying to hit Vear with the wave weapon again, but Vear wises up and throws himself clear. The Taskmaster kills a merc though.

Densk blurs to one side and Evades the Taskmaster's shots, but still gets clipped by a thug. Kosta gets similar treatment.

Xeth's spectacularly Leap draws attention from a Taskmaster and most of thugs, but everyone misses as the agile bug drops into a roll behind the Malik's sofa.

Medraut goes bonkers on you with a Marksman tap, managing to slip a bolt past your guard when your blade is out of position. Eight successes on twenty-four dice gets Parried to six and you take 8 damage.

Delfedd spends a second Force point this round on Evade, but Medraud still hits him. The Thieving Twins are lethal up-close, as Con knows well.

SYNDICATE SHOOTOUT, Start of Turn 6

Vear (HW8): 1(1PR 2A)/5 [10B ES KB] (2F)

Vear Mercenaries (G6) x1 (1A) (in cover)

Remember, swaps occur at the start of your turn, not the end. You can do your Dodge & Weave swap now.

"You two take the twins, I'll get the Malik"

Con will tap Dodge and Weave (that he just swapped in for OG) use Co-Ordination and use sense to follow where the Malik went

Instead of following up your attack, you make a break for the corridor the Malik escaped down. Medraut tries to follow but Xeth gets in his way; the Thieves cannot give chase. You start to leave the whirling, explosive mess behind when they shout, in unison, "Follow him!"

You have some thugs moving after you; their opening shots miss as you dodge and weave into the corridor. Medraud whirls about and tries to blow the controls to the blast door, but you tumble through just before it locks with a resonating clank.

Grabbing my hat in the last second.

Well, where am I now? Not that it matters too much, following the Malik is priority number one.

Do I have to take care of my schticks, or will they be fine again by the next confrontation?

As if to answer that question, a Taskmaster comes down the hallway at you, blasting frantically.

You'll need to get the schticks out for when the refresh comes.
