Wow, that Billie Joe Armstrong sure is into politics! He doesn't care about Obama's dog! I wish I knew as much about politics so that I could form an opinion like that.
I firs heard of Green Day back in 1994 when the son of one of the ladies I worked with heard I loved that type of music. He lent me Dookie and I was blown away, i just HAD to get all their albums. I can honestly say they have been the band I most admire for over 15 years. My highlight was seeing them at Milton Keynes a couple of years back. Up until then my favourite song had always been BasketCase but that night I fell in love with Jesus of Suburbia. When I need pepping up that is the song I always turn to, it is even in my last wishes letter that it will be played at my funeral at full volume! Who could not help but feel their heart racing as the song transitions from City of the Damned to I Don't Care. I get the shivers just thinking about it. My one big dissapointment was that I missed a call from my father the night before the Milton Keynes concert. My father had just sat in the bowl on a balmy summer eveining with a nice can of bitter to listen to the band having a run through as he knew it would be my dearest wish to be there, so he did it for me (He was an organiser). Afterwards he called me and had asked BJ to say hello to me....I missed the call!
