I know someone's probably already corrected this - I'm just trying to catch up with the threads before I post my recaps. But I'm pretty sure what they played was exactly what I tweeted before the show with 2 additions (Geek Stink and Amer. Eul.) and one deletion (When I Come Around ). The only other change (I'm pretty sure) is that the songs weren't in the exact order they had them on the list. For example, on the list Minority was the last song before the encore, but instead they did AE and my son and I were worried they had removed Minority (which is the song that changed me from a Green Day fan into a rabid-dog-foaming-at-the-mouth Green Day fan). But then they did Minority during the encore, so everything was right with the world.
And, BTW, people walked out of this show looking like they didn't know what hit them, but their faces were glowing with happiness. People were hugging each other and crying - people of all ages. I almost started crying when I found Beth and we hugged each other. And when Zoe came back to us in the pit - God I was just so choked up and teary - I was so happy for her amazing experience! AFter the show, people I didn't know were just looking at me - smiling - and like shaking their heads as if, "God that was too good to be true - was it really real?" It was SO incredible. I was worried I'd be disappointed in the arena shows since I've only ever seen them in small venues, but this show completely BLEW ME AWAY and as far as I could see, it did the same thing to everyone else in the crowd. I'm still not able to stop thinking about it and smiling. Flying home yesterday, I was in the Seattle airport getting on the shuttle to my gate. This very young girl (I'm sure under 18 and traveling with her parents) saw my shirt that I bought in Vancouver and wore home, and she looked at me and just started - really loud - "OH my god did you go to the show - wasn't it amazing - wasn't it awesome" etc. We both had the biggest smiles on our faces, and everyone in the car was staring at us - we didn't care at all - our eyes were shining. We chattered at each other all the way until we had to get off the shuttle. I just love how Green Day brings so many people together in such a positive way.
