maybe because Deep Purple were genre defining whereas Daft Punk and are just Gorillaz plain shit ass uninspired side projects, or maybe because forty years from now, people are still gonna listen to Deep Purple but won't give two flying ****s about Gorillaz or Daft Punk
haha! You're kidding right? You're really that stupid? Deep Purple weren't genre-defining at all, and even if they were, the genre they 'defined' sucked anyway! 70's hard rock? AC/DC? Aeroshit? I don't think so Ramjet. Daft Punk defined the 90's and 2000's techno genre which is far more complex than anything your crappy bands could ever muster to come up with.
The best thing about Deep Purple is the fact they reference Zappa in Smoke On The Water, an artist they could only wish to ever have the genius or talent of. Zappa would spit on their unoriginal 3-chord rubbish any day.
Also, it's funny how you critisize Green Day for being "3-chord rubbish" while you listen to basically the same thing you brand them as; just 20 years older, which somehow makes it better.

Deep Purple paved the way for every hard rock or metal act that followed...and as for ****ing Daft Punk, well they are great at making music on the computer, sampling stealing sounds, throwing it into a mixer and sell it to ignorant basterds like you who praise them as a ****ing gift of God! and if they ever defined anything, then it's a type of music nobody gives a shit about anymore...Techno is as dead as a ****ing Dodo!
i don't believe it, he's actually trying to defend an act that produces it's "music" on a comp against a band that excelled at playing their own instruments...three chords my ****ing ass!
