Inception looks pretty crazy. Everyone who has seen it has said that Inception and Piranha 3D are the only movies worth seeing this summer. I am a big horror fan and I enjoyed Hills Have Eyes (same director for Hills Have Eyes) and I really want to see Piranha 3d when it comes out. I have never seen a horror movie in 3d and I bet that the use of 3d is really appropriate for the underwater scenes. Nowadays 3D is used for every film, but this sounds like an awesome application. There are lots of babes, blood and death in this movie. Perfect to tickle most any horror fan. I am soo ready for Piranha 3D. Definitely the next and only other movie besides inception that I see this summer.
Leonardo DiCaprio Didn’t Understand Inception’s Screenplay

Since Inception is the only non-terrible-seeming tentpole being released this summer, the pressure is on Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight follow-up to deliver. How confusing will it be, though? We hope we won't need to understand it to enjoy it, since not even Inception star Leonardo DiCaprio did at first. From Dave Itzkoff's profile of Nolan in this Sunday's Times "Arts & Leisure":
For the Inception cast, the intricate screenplay Mr. Nolan wrote was tantalizing but occasionally perplexing. “It was a very well written, comprehensive script,” Mr. DiCaprio said, “but you really had to have Chris in person, to try to articulate some of the things that have been swirling around his head for the last eight years.”
Unless Nolan extends the same courtesy to viewers, swinging by theaters after his movie lets out to explain it in the parking lot, we might be in trouble here.
Gender: Unspecified Location: With Cinderella and the 9 Dwarves
Just watched this movie and I really liked it. There were a couple of things I found weird, and either don't quite understand or they don't make sense, but it had good actors doing very good jobs, the idea was good and well executed. I really liked the spin it put on that whole Heist-genre. A great movie, and also one of the better Nolan movies, I think. Definitely worth watching, and since I have seen a couple of Matrix comparisons thrown around, it's way better than Matrix, as a film, as well as on a philosophical level.

Actually, Sym is right you must have missed the part where Yusuf said that, because of the very potent sedative, it would actually be closer to 20 times rather than the usual 12 times.
Why has it become agreed that Inception somehow isn't an especially original story out of curiosity? I personally think it's become a little overrated, and isn't anywhere near as good as The Prestige and Memento (and I wouldn't place Following too far behind it) - I actually thought it'd be better than it really was - but it's pretty inarguable that it's extremely original. You have:
A) The unique concept of manipulating an individual by entering their dreams and placing an idea in its simplest form into their subsconscious, a concept that highly differentiates it from any other dream themed (or otherwise) story out there.
B) The expansion of the concept into the unique story and character development regarding Mal's insanity and death.
C) The expansion of the concept into a a thrilling adventure set within the confines of the entirely unique dream logic the film establishes.
D) The expansion of the nature of the dream logic into such philosophical questions regarding the distinction between dreams and reality, the act of creating your own world as a God, the nature of time and experience etc.
Alltogether resulting in an extremely creative and original story (both in concept and execution). If you were to question anything about this film it would be its ability to engage its audience, not its originality.
very good points.well said.Yeah that was something I noticed as well.Just saw this movie for the first time and I got to say that I noticed that as well that none of the material was based off original ideas.I was thinking throughout the movie-This movie is a cross between FLATLINERS AND DREAMSCAPE.HAS A LOT OF THE SAME ELEMENTS THAT BOTH THOSE MOVIES HAD.
Still though like I figured,I really enjoyed it and rank it as my favorite movie so far this year just like I figured I would end up doing.
True that Leo is an awful actor, that was the thing that I wasnt thrilled about at all from the beginning was his casting choice, but he wasnt the annoying whiner like he was in The Reader and other movies of his I have seen him in so he didnt bother me so much in this movie. He had a good supporting cast around him to make up for his presence in this film.
The thing i dont get is why did Nolan even bother having Michael Caine in the movie when he had only like a total of 5 minutes of screentime in it? with such a small amount of screetime like that,Nolan could have used any old actor for that.sheesh, makes me wonder if Caine begged him for that small part just to be a part of it. No your not missing en exceptional great movie based on any original ideas or anything, but it is interesting though and its still my favorite of the year.Had some interesting moments in them.
funny how your afraid to tell Impediment that he isnt an awful actor.that you wait till "I" mention it. and okay whatever the recent movie from a couple years ago is that he was reunited with kate Winslet in where he showed his awful acting skills. He wasnt an annoying whiner in this movie like he was in that and others he has done so I could get past Leo in this film.
