I probably wouldn't have said anything about your post either but you named a movie he wasn't even in so I had to take action. You're thinking of Revolutionary Road, and he was very good in that.
Which movies has he been an "annoying whiner" anyway?
Not liking an actor/actress and claiming they have no talent are two very different things.
okay, whatever.Nobody here said they have watched Titanic Over and over again so stop making assumptions.I havent seen Titanic in years matter of fact. Also I for one am going by what I have seen from the movies I have seen him and he has been horrible in many of them. This one he wasnt, but many of them he has been which is why Impediment rightly so, is not enthusiastic about seeing this movie and I dont blame him.

Well we'll just have to agree to disagree on that one.How you guys think he is an excellent actor is beyond me.This film and in Shutter Island he wasnt horrible in.I think he is getting better as he gets older.Kinda like Tom Cruise. In the beginning he was horrible when he was young and started out,but he got much better in his later years and is much better now.I think he learned a lot from the likes of Dustin Hoffman,Paul Newman and other greats.
Leo HAS shown with Shutter Island and with this one that he HAS gotten a lot better since his early years, but I would hardly say excellent though just yet. Granted I havent seen all those films that Jaden mentioned except The Aviater, dont want to.He wasnt horrible in that movie or the other two I mentioned like he has been in others of his I have seen, but he didnt do anything to blow me away though to where I would say he is an excellent actor yet. I would hardly say he is in the ranks of excellents such as Gary Oldman,Johnny Depp,Dustin Hoffman or Harrison Ford yet. He's got a longggggggg way to go before he even comes close to being ranked as excellent.

It's just opinions. I don't agree with almost all of the conspiracy theories you believe in, but I still think you're good people. It's just how it works.
At least we can agree on Bond 80% of the time, right ?
Because he's given great performances in several films; pretty simple. You can't watch What's Eating Gilbert Grape, The Aviator, The Departed, Revolutionary Road, Shutter Island, and now Inception and logically say that he is an "awful" actor. He's also been nominated more than once for Golden Globes and Oscars if that means anything to you.
I'm not saying he's a flawless actor, there are things about him that bug me, but overall he's pretty damn good. When I think awful actor, I think of the guys in this video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mQ4KzClb1C4

All I really need to say, again, SnakeEyes, is that "great performances" are subjective. All you really need to do is ask most any person on their opinion of recipients of an Academy Award. You, most certainly, get a different answer every time.
Leo is, in my individual opinion, a bad actor.
Who would I call a good actor? Bruce Campbell.
He's a great character actor with versatility.
See, you could argue with me the very same thing as Leo. "He's bad". BTW, I'm not putting words in your mouth. I'm merely using an example.
Still, I see things in Bruce that you don't, and vice versa for Leo.
It's all subjective.
If you think that Leo is good, then you think that he is good.
However, don't call a person out, like you did me, just because our opinions differ. I find it rude, honestly.
I'm all for subjectivity - just asking for a reason is all. If you don't want to give one, that's cool, I'd just be interested to hear what your criticisms are. Didn't mean to offend, sorry.
I guess it's just a pet peeve when people take something or someone that is widely accepted as talented/good/quality and say that it's awful. Like, for example, when people say "The Dark Knight is a terrible film" and provide no reasoning whatsoever, my first thought is going to be that that person doesn't have a good reason, despite subjectivity.
However, if they provide at least a bit of insight as to why they think or feel something is bad, I'm all ears.
Revolutionary Road, thats the one I was trying to think of with Kate Winslet recently.God he was horrible in that film.Horrible in the fact that he was just not believeable at all in his performance.Shutter Island and in this one,he was believeable in these roles thats why I dont have a problem with him in these two movies.I also think that Leo is a bad actor as well.Like I said,in Shutter Island and in this film,he seems to have gotten better and probably will over time as well like Tom Cruise did. But at this point,I dont see him having the versatility and consistancy such as the greats I just mentioned. Not yet anyways.
