Ok i am in the fleet, thanks.
Some questions if i may...
I wonder if this is like other games in the sense that i would have all my characters join (i only have one other ATM)..so to get the best stuff..for instance..if i put stuff into fleet bank, and let my other character get the stuff (obviously level appropriate)
I have already put stuff into fleet bank..items and money....i do not see a need to take anything at this moment...since my Vice Admiral..has from what i can tell good stuff from redoing missions. However i do notice that their is permissions...i do not want to do the wrong thing..can you give me an idea of the general rules for using the fleet bank.
How does the ranking system work in the fleet..is it the same in fleet as regular..you just get to rename them?
BTW...going thru the RESPEC again..i feel the game is lacking a little in that area, it seems i should have more points, or the method is a little messed up. I am forced to pick stuff i do not want to advance in tier...and then it does not let me take away from them to get what i really want. Any ideas on that?..it seems they are going to add more ranks ( Vice Admiral 2-6?)...i feel constricted in a sense lol
I am 100 cubits away from getting the Defiant with the Quad cannons...people are crazy with the prices in the Dilithium exchange...once in a blue moon i will find someone selling c points at a decent price...but i refuse to pay the ridiculous prices at the moment...i have 29000 Dilithium to sell..to make up 100 c points...and at he current prices..i can not do that...since i started playing, i hate the exchange..id rather take the time myself.
if we get all your characters in, whenever you level them up you can always get help from another member if they're online, and with the fleet bank like you said, it'll save you some EC.
The rules are really just common sense. if you take a lot, give a decent amount back. i don't see you doing the wrong thing, so don't worry too much. there's a restriction on how much you can take per day anyways.
basically yeah, its just ranks within the fleet so that higher level people will have more power.
the respecs are a tad lacking yeah, though hopefully once they get up and running with both ground and space sorted out, we'll be golden. they probably will increase ranks, just not yet.
yeah, the exchange is a bit silly atm. wait until the people start getting their stipends; the prices should drop drastically.

Okay, so i have been playing a new character on and off.. and i figured i would wait for my stipend to get the Defiant with quad cannons for my vice admiral tact officer( i want to put the quad cannons on the Defiant i have with the cloak)....so at the time i had 700 c-points, and i could not afford another 100 c points ( it was 800 c-points for ship)..since i have only 30000 dilithium i could not afford it at the time. A couple of days before my stipend is due to arrive, i now notice the defiant with quad cannons is 1200 c points!. When i first joined, i got screwed because of the change and had to pay c points for my current Defiant...Now when i get my 400 c-points in the next day or so, i will still be 100 c-points short. I was a little happy with the new skills, however once again i am forced to pick things i do not want to advance..and then i can not take away points since it wont allow it. Sorta bummed out about this whole deal. The way things are going this will be my last paid monthly subscription ( not because i am upset, just economics), so i wonder what i will loose if i become a free member..yeesh.
I am guessing that the tactical retrofit Defiant with the cloak i got before the last changes went up in price?
I've been having some bank troubles recently, so I'm not so sure about the prices, but I thought the Defiant on holodeck was going to be 800 to keep it in line with tribble?
Having been a paid customer before I got early access to the F2P. It doesn't seem to be much different so far, apart from the obvious updates since mid-last year that change a couple of the textures and completely change the level design of the starting instance of a Fed char.
Though I did make the mistake of thinking before acting and deleted my character I had before seeing if I could take him as he was onto the F2P, someone else I know who plays the game was able to log in with his previous char...so I made a silly error lol. Oh well, get to start again I guess, always like fresh starts on games
before I buy games I like to read the reviews, this game should be interesting cosidering the fact that now you will have a multitude of players... I wonder if its based on the new movie or the classic series? I for one would like to be worf
It's based on the Classic, or rather post-TNG, era. So all of Star Trek up until JJ Abrams' Star Trek apply here, and even some of the story Spock tells from JJ's Star Trek - i.e. the whole Romulas being blown up and Spock being thrown into an alternate Universe etc etc. It's a good and fresh story.
However, you do have to create a fresh Character, as any character name from any show or film is not allowed to be used. You can make the characters look a hell of a lot like some of the characters though.
The new, CANON, Enterprise-F, endorsed by CBS, gets launched in game tomorrow, and all week anyone level 5 or above (level 21 for Klingons) can get their own FREE Odyssey Class (the same class as the new Enterprise) by logging in and doing ONE mission.
That's right, one mission nets you a free ship to be used at Vice Admiral. Even if you aren't vice admiral while doing the mission, you'll get a token to claim it when you reach it.

I got the ship!
Star Trek Online is smart, to give it away was an awesome move. I play lots of free games, and everything is geared towards getting you to spend more money. I gotta give the game its props. As i was playing one of these other free games, several people were talking about how cool it was for them to do it.
