Let's say there's patch 1, then patch 2 and then patch 3. If you install patch 3 (aka game version 1.3) does it automatically give you the benefits of patches 1 and 2? Or must you install all of the patches individually? Thanks in advance.

Depends on the game, but if the game doesn't ask for patch 1/2 when installing patch 3, then you can be pretty much certain you will be getting the benefits of patch 1/2.
