The word samurais seems to be very uncommon. There is no technical reason not to pluralize it in English, though it seems fairly awkward to say.
And yes, I see what you're getting at. But you can't really speak informal English a real language and also stand on points of consistency. If you do I'd like to point out that ninja and samurai are only correctly rendered in English as ninja and samurai.
