Not really, but let's say for example he did manage to amp that way. Then what? How would you quantify Adam's power level?

Ok, I'm not saying that you're making a problem out of nothing. Obviously, I completely agree that PC Superman possesses ridiculously high feats and low feats that are difficult, if not impossible, to reconcile with each other. But while this problem looms especially large for PC Superman, it's not like other characters don't share this issue. Does Thor job to Savage Hulk? Is containing a 1/5th universe destroying blast pis? Or is getting knocked unconcious by a sniper bullet pis?
you're right, it does come up. but like i said, it's much more the norm in the pc world is all. i think it's pretty easy to look at the bulk of thor's feats and say the bullet is pis. i'm not saying superman vs adam=pis because his battles against MANY foes go the same way.
quote: I think we deal with these issues all the time with other characters. And when the outliers are that much more divergent, consistent fight portrayals end up being more informative, if not determinative. It's not like Black Adam beat Superman with one measly bolt of magic lightning in one instance and, in another, got blown across the galaxy with a simple superbreath the next fight. If it were, then we'd be in trouble. But, here, it's not. I disagree. No, Thor cannot end him quickly, you know. And he never could.
hmm, we could discuss the thor issue in the appropriate thread.... the real question is could LOKI end hulk quickly....?
as far as using the fights--i think the issue can be blurry using them. i could show a bunch of scans of superman fighting and seemingly having problems with guys and their creations like prankster! r.i.d.i.c.u.l.o.u.s. sometimes i think it's only in FEATS that writers felt comfortable showing his true power. pc superman rarely got definitive wins over other heroes (wonderwoman, marvel, lantern--he fought them all but to the best of my knowledge never actually ko'd any of them in direct combat. if you can show otherwise, i'd love to see it). so, if his fights typically end in draws or one pis sort or another, using battles becomes difficult, imo.
quote: That's more than arguable based on individual feats or resorting to ABC logic against other third party characters, e.g., Surfer > Hulk = Thor, or Surfer > BRB = Thor. But based on their actual fights, Thor is usually portrayed as his equal or superior. A one-time encounter (especially one that is short), I might agree. But I don't see any reason to argue against it when we're dealing perrenial matchups (like the ones we're discussing). It's what we've seen in comics. It's what we'll likely see in comics again when the characters match up next time. Boiling it down, I think arguing against it is just arguing against the comics. [/B]
you could be right. i guess it's as simple as you tend to put more stock in the battles than i do. i think they can be telling and certainly need to be taken into consideration. i'm just not sure they tell a complete picture of power level.

As someone who hasn't read a lot of PC stuff, I have to ask: How many fights did they have?
pretty sure they only met twice.....

You can't just assume Adam would have the same amp.
I don't know; it's never been quantified. He is far more powerful though; his sundipped feats are beyond most heralds.

Portrayal means nothing in a forum fight. This is because I the writer can portray character X as being equal to character Y by simply not letting character X use certain powers against character Y, especially when we seen character X use those powers against others.
Also I can have character X use lesser strength, durability, etc. and fight extremely dumb when X has been shown to fight much smarter many times before.

Pre Crisis Superman vs PC Black Adam?
As far as I've seen, one, from that Cap/Superman team up.
Adam did take a swing or two to Supes in an earlier story, but that was in disguise, to get Superman and Captain Marvel to start fighting.

You must have missed all the anti-Superman fanart that's been posted over the years. The pendulum is so far the other way that it's stuck.

I honestly think the fanart is funny. It shows someone is so mad they post some random stuff which doesn't matter. I've also had to see that non canon ny cops arresting Thanos for years. Learn patience from me, baby brother. Be like me.

Noncanon and the car washing shows the guy isn't afraid to wash a car. He mixes in with the working crowd.

He was kinda cc'd into doing so. But man that car shined after Thanos got a hold of it. Add it to his list of feats.
