What We Know About the 'Jurassic World' D-Rex
Here’s how Colin Trevorrow described the D-Rex in a May interview with Slashfilm:
“Yes, there will be one new dinosaur created by the park’s geneticists. The gaps in her sequence were filled with DNA from other species, much like the genome in the first film was completed with frog DNA. This creation exists to fulfill a corporate mandate—they want something bigger, louder, with more teeth. And that’s what they get.”
Additional leaked details about the dinosaur were essentially confirmed by Trevorrow. According to a leaked description, the D-Rex is a hybrid species created by combining the DNA of a Tyrannosaur with genetic material from velociraptors, snakes, and cuttlefish. Following from the “Lost World” novel, which featured chameleonic Carnotaurus, it seems likely that the D-Rex possesses some variety of color-changing ability explained by its cuttlefish genome.
"The Daemon lied with every breath. It could not help itself but to deceive and dismay, to riddle and ruin. The more we conversed, the closer I drew to one singularly ineluctable fact: I would gain no wisdom here."
It looks not great, but hey it's just the trailer.
Remember when we made a Dinosaur Theme Park and everyone died? We did it again! Also we were even more aggresively irresponsible! Because we created SUPER dinosaurs! and we have MORE people here for them to eat!
Anyways here's Darth Maul's speeder super monkey ball.
This film will either make or break Colin Trevorrow. He's relatively inexperienced so here's to how he got given the budget for this. I have a bad feeling it's gonna be absolute tripe. But as you know, I'm a pessimist and think that about most movies. Doesn't matter that I'm proven right most of the time.
Gender: Male Location: 4th Street Underpass, Manhattan
Yeah, I spent a good 2/3 of the trailer thinking "How stupid are these phucking idiots? They've tried in 3 prior films to domesticate dinosaurs and failed horribly, so now they're going get even bigger and more dangerous dinosaurs and surround them with thousands of potential victims?" Still looks more entertaining than JP3 though.
