Alright some ideas and points.
First Persuasion is VERY important. We need to work WITH the local authorities. Going over their heads and saying, "Well we are Jedi we don't need your approval." Is a great way for us to get them to not help us when we need it. Use persuasion, offer the criminal a deal, and get it cleared with the authorities.
Second, I being the morally upright, am going to officially declare that we are not going to use intimidation on criminals for interrogation purposes. This is a Jedi investigation and we are going to do things the Jedi Way. I know this seems harder for you renegade people, but we are Jedi, its how we roll.
Third, Sunda and I will work on narrowing down the planets. I know its technically grunt work, but I feel it will help me impart my galaxian wisdom (Is that a term?) on him, and I'm really not doing anything else.
Ships are a good idea Xeth, but I don't know why we would need ships that hold a lot of people. The pirates come in cargo ships and put down ASAP. We only have to deal with starfighters in space and I think anything else might become a liability.

I don't mind talking to the local authorities, just make it very clear what we need to reach besides "we're working with them". What do the local authorities already know about our actions? What can they know and what shouldn't they know?
I agree with tptmanno, I'm also an uptight jedi.

You can switch Merits so long as you have not used them.
The advantage I was referring to was Famous Master.
Sorry, didn't get that updated Combat schtick list after all. But don't worry about xp- like I said, that's being handled afterwards. For now, JUST tell me if you want to swap anything around.

Xeth only wants to change Gun/Combat schticks, so he'll wait.
I wanted to get small ships for us so that we can transport everyone who can't fly ships themselves. We've got the Jedi fighters that the Council loaned (which Xeth thinks are dinky) and our own personal ships for when we need to rip shit up, but until then we need small transports to get everyone around.

You'll need to keep your own ships out of this one, Xeth- if any of them get spotted, the pirates will know you guys are poking around., You have a reputation and the Hutts recognise your ships on sight.
(The 'Starship' merit is disabled for this Interlude).
You can move around just fine so long as you have Pilot.

If it does to come to a point, I strongly argue that we do use intimidation. Intimidation can be used for Jedi in a different way then say, Renegades or Dark Siders. Obviously a Jedi will never intimidate anyone by saying "We will kill you." Rather, a Jedi with intimidate will say something like "Don't make this any harder than it has to be. I'm going to arrest you and make sure more charges are piled out on you, etc..."
Mace Windu seems just like the type of person to be a Jedi who uses intimidation, and he's not just any Jedi Knight. Seeing as he was Vlad's master, Vlad will still believe in intimidation when needed.
Although... He has no points in Intimidation. Like I said, going to have to add some xp to it or someting...
I don't require to change any saber schticks at the moment. I rather keep Charge, it seems a handy skill in all kinds of situations where there will be close quarter fighting.

I'd like to think a Renegade wouldn't threaten to kill someone either; they are still Light Siders. Maybe bluff it perhaps.
Yes, Mace uses Intimidation. Sometimes, imposing your charisma onto someone is the best way to a peaceful resolution.
I believe Roan's objection is on the grounds of what he finds acceptable as a means of gathering information, though- and it his this mission.
Of course, if he's not there... you never know with those Renegades...

I believe awhile back Xeth threatened someone with Intimidation- put the gun down or be blasted to pieces. They complied. It's a strategy that works.
The point of asking for bigger ships was so that other people could hop around with those of us that have Pilot. Plus, Renegades aren't going to have Jedi fighters.

Wentar is pro intimidation. Despite it being distasteful, sometimes things like this have to be done when dealing with criminal types. If we get nothing out of him via 'Jedi' means Wentar is willing to bite the bullet and scare info out of him.
We could look for more evidence to make us sure we have the right guy, like check bank accounts for anything out of place, see if he received any large, anonymous, 'donations'.

As far as I remember, Vera-Kin has not ever consulted her Mentor or used her Contact. I actually want to replace it with Reputation, as part of the reinvented background I'm giving Vera-Kin (relevant to the Retro games).

Lets see, on Wentar's list is;
Get a reference for anyone going undercover from Loj'oon.
See if Loj'oon would be able to get us involved with Shareth's shipping business and what ever information he can give us about it.
Get involved with interrogating the suspect. Unless anyone feels he'd be more useful elsewhere.

One major case at a time. For now, you have to live with the existence of Hutt laundering operations. Not to mention them being able to pay in non-credit form. The Republic economy doesn't work well this far out.
