The man is a clerk on a planet with an extreme disproportion oif wealth between rich and poor. His wages are appallingly low and he has no possible mobility to oither economies- and he works all day securing the wealth of the obscenely rich giants that rule. So yes, when the pirates came along and offered him a fortune and a new life in return for him giving them the security timings so they could rob the rich, he took the opportunity.
What he didn't expect was that they would kill anyone in the raid- and he is exceptionally wracked by guilt. He's also terrified for his life if he gives you names or any such thing.

It seems no-one is on on trying to intercept the pirates at the scouting stage- I'll have to close off that line. Shame, as you did a lot of the work; you need to keep track of what you were working on. Unless someone gets in on it very quickly!

Undercover folks- you are now committed, and I am making rolls for you.
You spend a long time in the system. Pelloran uses most of his force for muslce at appropriate times (especially border disputes with other criminal concerns) and seucring some of his assets. You quickly identify many people along the chain of production for his criminal empire, and you get the fronts of SHareth's used to launder the money. You don;lt want to use any of that yet, of course; you'll sit on the warrants for now.
What you have not got near yet is the fleet, which he keeps new people away from. Tryuing to get in with the strike force is difficult too. What becomes apparent is that Pelloran scouts out up to half a dozen targets at once, and only calls where the stike is going to be at the last moment.
You'll be able to get the half dozen names- but by the time you do, it will be too late for any other approaches toi bear fruit, so we have that one last day for any other approaches.

The Lo'joon thing works very well! Unfortunately, you do not get the fleet, as Pelloran sends out a single freighter to rendezvous and pick up his supplies. Buit you get a read on its exity vector, and over the following months you can build up by triangulation a good, if rough, idea of how his fleet moved around over time- a vital means of narrowing down the final target!

Offer him some kind of deal! Get on the horn to the Krillan authorities and see if they can offer some kind of protection for him if he gives us names.

I don't think the Kirillian authorities would help since, well, they already did us a huge favor by letting us absolve his crimes.
Vlad will, however, contact the Order and ask them if we can get him some security on Coruscant. There must be some sort of victim protection program where we can change his identity or something.
I have to ask the Jedi or the Government to give me a pilot and a ship because I don't have any pilot thingies.
So the problem is that I have to stop them while they're scouting around, right?
Can I get info from the Jedi? Is something known from their scouting tactics? Do they travel in ships that are used as pleasury yachts, do they use fast ships, ... ?
I don't have any tactic on this currently, as I'm a bit drunk and can't think straight... I take it that we can't set up interdictor fields on those twelve planets? I mean those ships that can make ships not be able to jump to hyperspace?
Have they gone for the big kills? Is there a pattern in the planets they hit? Do they prefer easy hits or big hits?
Perhaps the government (or Jedi) can tell me if they spotted the same ships around the hit planets? Perhaps they use the same ship over and over for recon missions and we can react as soon as we spot them?
OK, that's really the most logical I can post without the world turning aorund. I'll make a more sensible post tomorroW...
Ushgarak: do we get XP from interludes too?

No, the problem is not top stop them as they are scouting around. You have mis0understood the issue.
The pirates scout out their targets in detail and recuit local knowledge. The thinking was that if you could spot them soucting you might have an idea on their potential targets- or you could even infiltrate at the point of scouting.
No point asking the Council for information- YOU are the team they sent out to get it! Interdiction is a bit irrelevant- the planet itself interdicts hyperspace, but in any case the spirit of your idea would be to shut down all space traffic, which is obviously entirely impractical.
I am sorry you have not been given more information- bit of a group failure, this.
(You will get a small xp reward for this though, yes)

The entire reason you are interviewing the Kirillian for information is so that we can figure out how they find their people! How did they get ahold of him? Why him? This is so we can establish how they operate so that we can see if any of the sites we've narrowed it down to show signs of people being offered deals or tied into pirate plots.
Xeth will be going with the flow as far as pirate infiltration is concerned. He doesn't want to draw too much attention to himself; maybe just enough that Pelloran reconsiders not letting the new guys in. Xeth will be looking out for opportunities to be getting more involved in the action, maybe even the strike group, or at least figuring out how he can learn more about them, getting closer to people, makin' piratey friends.

Meanwhile- the Council will approve witness protection, but again, they remind you that it is best if everything is done in co-operation with the local authorities.
Also, the Kirillians agreed to making a deal not necessarily absolution. For a start, they want their money bak from him.

So basicly we do not have acurate information about where they can possibly scout besides a planet or 12.
I don't really get how we can spot them scouting if we don't have an idea where they can be currently scouting...

Would we be able to narrow the the planets even more using the latest list of planets and comparing it to the fleet movements we tracked down during the Loj'oon runs? Or has that already been taken into account?
