No one is really played as a love interest in this game, but [SPOILER - highlight to read]: Talia is the mother of Bruce's son Damien in the comics, so I guess that's where Nemesis is coming from.
Spoiler tagged to keep the character's name hidden for those who don't know they're in the game yet.

ahh, [SPOILER - highlight to read]: Still wouldn't call her his love interest really. I guess she's one of them but with the stupid retcon involving what happened. ..It's less than ideal. and definitely takes from being the main one
I see. Well I did get the soundtrack thingie from gamestop for getting it the first day, even though I didn't pre-order, and that other stuff I can wait for (like the DLC) or could do without. Interesting stuff nonetheless though, but I hate the Gotham City Imposters thing, or the concept of it, and Gotham Knight I've already seen. Kinda wish I had gotten the statue now, but oh well. I have enough of them as it is (the Scorpion and Subzero ones for one).
Yep, that's true.
lol, Yeah. Those were pretty amusing.
Yeah, I did like his design and stuff at least.
Indeed, and what you said at that last part is why I only do a ground takedown when I think there's only one more enemy left, but I'm usually do the triple stun thing or somethin' before that for the sake of getting more variation bonus.
On the subject of the whole Riddler's Revenge mode, I hate the top of the world predator map as Catwoman. Can't find the right time to do a reverse ledge takedown. The extreme predator maps with her are quite the ***** as well, but at least getting all the combat challenge medals with her and Bats seemed easier than getting all the combat ones in Arkham Asylum, or I've just gotten better at it. Gonna attempt the campaign thingies with both of 'em later.
Same here. I wasn't really picky or disappointed about what material it was made out of like most were; just that you couldn't take it off the stand.
Croc [SPOILER - highlight to read]: gets only a small cameo, since you fought him last game. He's living in the sewers connecting to the subway lines, below the Restricted Area. There are no repeat boss fights from Arkham Asylum in Arkham City.

[SPOILER - highlight to read]: Joker is technically a repeat boss battle since we fight him in the Steel Mills.
Still the one in AA was Titan Joker and it was a disappointment. The one in AC had us fighting normal Joker, along with a whole slew of enemies including a Titan & Mr. Hammer, and it was really good.

All true. I've also seen it, but I've bought most of the movies in the DCAOU collection, and I was just missing Gotham Knight & Emerald Knights.
Indeed. Nolan North did a splendid job with the voice work. I guess NN should really be in every video game.
It also reminds me. I need to re-read Knightfall. I also wish Bane was threatening in the Arkham-verse.
Yep. Unlike AA, I actually use Stun a lot in this game. Plus that beatdown move is excellent for racking up hits in order to gain usage of your special moves. I don't use the explosive gel a lot in Freeflow though. I usually set it up near a downed enemy, stun another enemy wait for him to get up, use the gel, and then Ground Takedown the guy I just stunned. Doesn't happen a lot. The Freeze grenade is overpowered on the other hand.
I haven't yet gotten around to those unfortunately. But I'm sure I'll be just as frustrated as you.

Catwoman's 3rd segment is pretty kewl. You are given a 'choice of two options' near the end of the segment as to whether or not you should attempt the rescue of Batman after Protocol 10 is initiated. I chose to leave, and actually left Gotham as I was expecting her to turn around at the end essentially locking out the choice to leave.
The game 'ended' as it showed me some of the credits along with a plea for help from Oracle, but then rewound back to the choice path and locked out the 'walk away' option.
I did not expect this. I expected it to be a linear, i.e. it wasn't really a choice of two options but one, and it was as such. However, it went about it in a pretty cool way.

I was surprised there were choices in a situation like that which disappoints me that [SPOILER - highlight to read]: there weren't any choices on whether I should go stop Hugo Strange or go save Talia first. Before I was forced to go stop Hugo, I felt a lot of weight on my shoulders. Save the damsel and leave the city to be destroyed, resulting in the death of thousands or save the city and leave your girlfriend to die by the hands of a psychopath? When I had no choice but to stop the missile attack, I was very unimpressed. This game is supposed to be dark and yet I couldn't pick whether to sacrifice a dozen lives for one or vice versa. That, IMO, is weaksauce.
In that case, Nemesis, [SPOILER - highlight to read]: allowing thousands of others to die just to save Talia would have been massively out of character for Batman. She knew it, Alfred new it, Oracle knew it, and even Batman knew it else he would have just done his own thing without Alfred's help anyway. It was an emotional struggle, but the same as his constant struggle to never kill, if he had gone through with the other choice it would have haunted him for the rest of his life, and most definitely broken him.
I rather enjoyed how that narrative bit worked out, as it gave his following actions a sense of personal urgency, a need to fulfill his duty before he can allow himself his personal desires.
[SPOILER - highlight to read]: Actually following through with either choice is in-character for Catwoman, given her anti-villain status. It's equally believable that she'd go help Batman, and skip town confident that he'll take care of himself. For her, the choice works. Not so much for the Batman.

Well granted it would've been out of character for Batman [SPOILER - highlight to read]: to ignore saving countless lives and go for Talia but imagine that choice being like the choice [SPOILER - highlight to read]: you make when you're Catwoman and leave the city which results in Batman's death. Suppose you picked the selfish choice, there would be an instant game over 'cause what you just did was not the Batman way.
For the record, if I was actually given a choice to either [SPOILER - highlight to read]: stop Strange or save Talia, I would've picked option #1. I just think giving players a choice in that situation would've been interesting for it would've tested us.

But I don't like it as much as I did the first one. It was more of my play style because I felt the story in the first was done much better (even though the ending sucked) and I liked the location better as well.
I also felt because of the smaller nature of the maps, I thought the Riddler secrets was more to my liking. Something about the larger arena, it was more of a hindrance because it felt like busywork instead being an addicting collection quest.
Both games have pro's and con's but because I like more contained and more atmospheric storylines, I liked the first a bit more.
