When Nova was first introduced way back in 1976, he found himself meeting all sorts of foes and allies. One of his first adventures involved Thor, who had come under the influence of the Corruptor. For the fledgling hero, it would be quite a baptism by fire.

I really have no idea how these scans got messed up on the second page, but I noticed that the links are incomplete for this fight so I'm reposting it. I'd appreciate any heads-up if you guys become aware of any other link problems. In any case, this is Thor's first encounter with the self-styled Master of Magnetism, Magneto, who offers him allegiance in the conquest of humanity. Thor dismisses his offer and a fight between god and homo superior begins.

Interesting.

I realize now how much more I like Thor's new look over his classic attire.

^ It's from Hulk #22. McGuiness really drew the hell out of that splash page.

I was going to post Thor's long overdue fight with his clone, Ragnarok. But I thought I'd start by showing just how powerful this simulcra was by posting his epic fight with the Initiative and the New Warriors.

And I guess for the sake of completion, I might as well show Ragnarok laying rather sadistically into the voluminous Volstagg -- whose agility I was fairly surprised at -- right before his fight with the true Thor.

But for all the power that Ragnarok possesses -- and perhaps due to how taxed he was when Asgard literally crashed down upon his head -- he is utterly outclassed by the true Thor in this flashy battle that acts as the epilogue to Siege.

Accuracy

Not a lot of people think Thor can use Mjolnir with much, if any accuracy, outside of hurling it in a straight path. Nay thee, I say! Taken from Thor #137:

Really? That's silly. Thor can throw Mjolnir in ways as if it's alive due to their link.

quote:
As a result oft their link, Thor is able to throw Mjolnir in ways that make it seem alive.
http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e...r/Mjolnir30.jpg

He has done similar stunts plenty of times such as here.
http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/...mazingAim13.jpg
http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/...mazingAim14.jpg

Or here.
http://i779.photobucket.com/albums/.../Mjolnir122.jpg

Thor uses Mjolnir to decimate an entire forest, once again making it seem as if Mjolnir was alive.
http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/...efeatsLoki4.jpg

Thor throws Mjolnir and wills it to take out a horde of Pluto's men encircling him in Sif.
http://i779.photobucket.com/albums/.../Mjolnir136.jpg
http://i779.photobucket.com/albums/.../Mjolnir137.jpg

He is able to hit multiple targets at the same time.
http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/...AmazingAim4.jpg
http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/...AmazingAim5.jpg

Thor can even strike beings around corners.
http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/...AmazingAim7.jpg

He can wield Mjolnir like Captain America does his shield except with more maneuverability.
http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/...mazingAim10.jpg

Thor can will Mjolnir to even rebound and ricochet back and forth, similar to a pinball.
http://i779.photobucket.com/albums/...jolnir124-1.jpg

Thor can also use Mjolnir as a precise tool for various situations such as here when it swivels around Heimdall's legs, defeating him.
http://i779.photobucket.com/albums/.../Mjolnir123.jpg

His superhuman eyesight and accuracy also helps.

quote:
Thor can clearly see Aphrodite despite the fact that she's invisible to mortals.
http://i779.photobucket.com/albums/...ncedSight25.jpg

Thor proves that superhuman aim is one of his powers as he throws a pipe accurately enough to catch a Loki who was out into the ocean while he was in the middle of New York City.
http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/...AmazingAim6.jpg

Amazing eyesight also allows Thor to have amazing accuracy as evident here when he is able to destroy the forward gun of a space ship that was so far away, it was as small as a distant star.
http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/...AmazingAim8.jpg
http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/...AmazingAim9.jpg

Thor tosses Loki all the way from the Rainbow Bridge across all of Asgard and accurately onto his castle. Logan better hope he never tries a fastball special with Thor.
http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/...mazingAim20.jpg
http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/...mazingAim21.jpg

The above feats weren’t flukes by any means as here Thor is able to aim and toss Sigurd all the way onto a deserted Asteroid in space.
http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/...ManAsteroid.jpg

Here it is even stated Thor never misses with his throws which seems accurate for the most part.
http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e...r/Mjolnir27.jpg

Believing him responsible for the theft of the Golden Apples, Thor throws down with Amadeus Cho, the reluctant new Prince of Power. Already armed with his genius intellect, Cho wields Hercules Adamantine Mace and Bannertech in this fight, which allows him to match Thor for a time.

I just thought this was interesting enough to share:

http://i779.photobucket.com/albums/.../ThorUlagg1.jpg
http://i779.photobucket.com/albums/.../ThorUlagg2.jpg
http://i779.photobucket.com/albums/.../ThorUlagg3.jpg

http://i779.photobucket.com/albums/.../ThorUlagg5.jpg
http://i779.photobucket.com/albums/.../ThorUlagg6.jpg

Going by this, Thor is older than all modern life known to man. I guess it makes since if you believe Odin and his brothers created the Earth etc. as some stories have told.

Lol you seriously Think Clor would stand a chance if he was at full power? Thor has the power to destroy planets with one swing, or with a thought call down a thermo blast. He can use his godblast to tear through a 20,000ft celestial which is one of the hardest matrails to tear through in the marvel universe. Clor who's has bare taken on two teen age teams should have been a challenge at full power? Thor has been fighting in this entire thing to. Regardless the fight went as the way it should have went. Clor is pretty strong, not so powerful and he did how he should have done.

I may have missed them if they are in the thread, but during Busieks run on the Avengers, Captain America states that Thor has always been the most powerful avenger. Later on Wonderman admits that Thor is stronger then he is. Then during the whole Kang war, there's a direct durability comparison between Thor and Wonderman where they take a blast at the same distance, and while Wonderman is banged up and barely conscious Thor is still standing and walking around.

Yeah it has been stated several times he was the most powerful avenger and strong. Even there first/second real foe stated he wanted Thor more than any other person on the team(his power was to switch with some one gaining all there powers and throwing them in another dimension). Since Thor was a god though it didn;t work. I also remember a comic where a bomb went off and it killed wonder man but not Thor, or it badly wounded wonder man, but again Thor was okay.

So all those it was Thor hammer at first marvel forgot and let Odin have it before Thors time. Even in mythology the hammer was made right after sif lost her hair. Thor was about to kill Loki with is bare hands.
that, and i believe marvel followed the myth somewhat with keeping the part how loki transforms into a fly and interrupts the creation process of mjolnir by irritating the dwarves. mjolnir's handle is short because of that.

Maybe is in Kang's respect thread, in the Scale part, about the end of the conquering earth feat, I'll plug it if I find it.

Edit: Nah, it seemed I cut the follow up, I posted most of the issue as it is, so I didn't want to push it. I'll see if I can upload it later.
