Spoke too soon, Whitfield's remission was short lived; unfortunately the cancer came back and he needs "aggressive treatment", so he's out of the show indefinitely.

STARZ is considering recasting him, should they go onto Season 2 after the prequel season wraps up.

Poor guy.

Don't judge it until episode 4 or 5. Seriously. Once the show stops trying to emulate 300 it actually gets really good imo.

Actually, this is one of the best tv series. Because it shows the reality of life in that time.
I think this tv show should be of 3 or 5 series.
I really like it and I hope you can give me the names of some movies or tv series like this.

Agreed. I for one never knew the Romans were responsible for inventing 'fluffers'.


But in all seriousness, I love this series. Even the Gods of the Arena spinoff has been quite good -- getting some backstory on Crixus/Ocnomas helps build their characters tremendously.
