is a stock i7920 a bottleneck to graphic cards like radeon 5870?
yea, just what i asked. will a stock i7920 2.66 ghz cause problems with playing games at extreme grahics settings at 1080p?

No, it certainly won't bottleneck. Although most people prefer to overclock their CPUs to at least 3.0GHz.
