Well THAT I can understand. There isn't alot of footage of any of the street fighter players showcasing anything great. But I figure that's more because they want to focus on showing people how the tekken guys are gonna work on a 2d plane. You don't think the mechanics with the SF guys will be as good as, say, street fighter 4?
Personally, I wanted Street Fighter go up against Mortal Kombat and Tekken to go up against either Dead or Alive or Virtua Fighter.
Not only did neither of these games happen but the guy that's over Street Fighter (Ono) is fully aware that fans want those games and instead, we get this?
That's why I'm not happy with this game. I'm tired of my dream matches getting delayed like this.

Ono is the ultimate troll. At EVO, he says his trailer have the sf getting beat up so he can get tekken fans excited and sf fans pissed, so that win sf fans play the sf characters, they kick butt. Looking at the GAMEPLAY and hands on with the pros, this looks like another cvs2. The sf half is clearly more powerful than the tekken half.
You can tell when capcom is fighting a rival and when they face a legend. The capcom characters suck in MVC and tvc, for the most part. In cvs and looks like sfxt, they are way more useful than the other half of the roster.

Are you basing Capcom characters being more powerful than SNK characters on tier listings?
While I'm certain characters can have advantages over others, sometimes I wonder if tier listings are more about individual character strengths and weaknesses, or popularity, e.g. the top guys use character X, so everyone uses character X, so character X wins most of the tournaments, and everyone sees that character as > character Y and Z who only 1% of gamers use (And a smaller pool of players mean less of a chance of truly talented players unlocking its potential..)
Take Cassandra in Soul Caliber as an example.. She wasn't paid much attention for years, until one player reached a high level in tournament play.
Capcom characters are considered better in CVS2 because they have more tools, they are a lot easier to use, and they have a lot "tricks". The Capcom Grooves are also better and have less limits.
Tiers is also part of it. There are no SNK characters in the top tier of that game. And CVS2 has been out for over 10 years and the top tier of that game has only changed, in the slightest, twice. You wont see many low tiers win tourneys if they haven't by now. I'm certain, you're not gonna see a low rate character jump to top tier in that game. It's been out for too long.
After 10 years, this is the top of the list. Almsot half of the entire Capcom roster is in the top 2 tiers.
I've been a fan of fighters for a long time. So I didn't start with SFII stopped after that and then pick things back up at SFIV. And SFIV definitely isn't my 1st fighting game.
I've played and enjoyed fighters like Galaxy Fight to Evil Zone. Needless to say, I'm a fan of more than just SF and Versus. I've enjoyed Power Stone, Star Gladiator, Rival Schools, Red Earth (to an extent), Cyberbots, Tech Romancer, etc. So excuse me if I'm no longer excited with a billion SF and Versus games in under 5 years. It's the 90s all over again, except with less variety which makes things worse.
Darkstlkers was Capcom's 2nd most successful fighting series. Until Marvel 3. So yeah, I was kinda expectin a Darkstalkers game at last years comic-con, not another f**kin Street Fighter[IV] game with a side of Tekken. This game is bull shit. I call this game terrible because it is a terrible idea, at a bad time, and it can only do harm to Capcom's much more deservin fighters that should have had this game's spot.
Yes, this game is terrible. So pleez, I urge people to do their research before they form an opinion on what I say.

Pretty much agree. The game is "terrible" because, for lack of a better word, it's stupid. It could be a good game, but it's still another sf game in a long of line quickly churned sf games.

I am on the same boat. I never stopped playing fighting games. All you have done is try to rationalize your anger towards the game for it taking Darkstalker's place. That does not mean the game is terrible. I am simply being rational. Say "This game will bomb. This game will suck. This game is going to make everyone wish it was Darkstalkers" But don't just say it is terrible before playing the damned thing. Though given your stance on the matter it won't really matter lol.
So basically it just has to do with the amount of SF games they have released and the fact that you feel like they must cater to your every needs like a child and ignoring the game's mechanics and the fact that it has not even been released yet. huh...I'm sure you wouldn't be saying this if this were a return to it's crossover glory days like CVS2...you were around during the capcom boom right?
REALITY: Wait until a major Capcom fighting game does not come out for 10 years just like it did last time. People will ***** about it anyways. They need to find something to ***** about. It's in their fanboyish nature. XD Also, I have found a pattern while considering past capcom games as I was very sure there was a boom of releases by capcom at a time. And I was right.
This has happened in the late 90's-early 00.
Our generation's SSF2THD and Anniversary games:
SF Alpha 1-3 (95-00)
Our Generation's SF4/SSF4/SSF4AE:
SF3 (1999)
SF3 2nd (1999)
SF3 3rd (2000)
Our Generation's SF X Tekken/Tekken X SF
CVS (2000)
CVS2 (2001)
Our Generation's 3SO:
ST (Well this came out '94, but the hype really grew back later in the states)
We all bought them and to this day we still enjoy them, or even go as far as to saying they are the best fighters out there.
All these SF games within a span of 3-4 years...I'm pretty sure the next SF game will come out in 2014 and it will probably be something minor/non canon like alpha. The next Major would probably come out 2018...Now, I doubt this would ever happen, despite Ono saying this would be the last one. My point? Capcom has been doing stuff like this for many years. Bitching about it did not change before and it won't change now days.
SO THERE, all these games to play for the next ten years. I guess that's how Capcom rolls...I am personally alright with that. Happy? Because as I said I am! ...=\
As for the next SF crossover game...there is one I am hoping for but I rather keep it to myself because i'm afraid and just hope. ^_^
I aint "rationalizin" shit. You may have never stopped playin fightin games but it's clear you aint took the time to enjoy any of the Cap fighters outside of SF and Versus. You people do not know what you're missin. And if you can't see why I think this game is terrible before I even touch it, for reasons already given, then oh f**kin well.
This game woulda been great 5 years from now, but 2012?! I mean damn, a SF/Versus every year? F**kin retarded. lol

Have you not read anything I've posted? Yeah, you should do that before you post. It's a really good look. I want'em to "cater to my needs"? Silliest post yet. I don't even care what characters get into these games. I don't even make demands. But cuz I want'em to stop makin SF and Versus games every 6 months for the sake of the entire FGC, I'm being a child? GTFOoH!
Yeah and your time table's kinda f**ked up. Since, you know, Capcom made other games back in those days. Which was is my whole f**kin point! Christ, man.
