As for your microphone are you using a condenser or a dynamic microphone. I'm guessing it's a dynamic microphone hopefully a SM-58.

The lyrics could be better, but it's not horrible. I wouldn't go as far to say it's amazing.

But you get props from me for posting your stuff man. I'd say engineer it better, and work on your lyrics. Tell your friend to stop making beats on FL, maybe buy a Synth. The Virus series are great, as are some Rolands. Or you could be smart and buy a midi trigger.

No offense but I'm not going to tell him to stop using FL Studio if that's what he wants to use. Afterall, I'm happy with the beats. The only thing I'm not happy with is that we need more equipment, which is something I'm working on improving as soon as possible.

And here's the remix to our song Here We Go:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9SoBt88Alyk

Much better than the original, & I'm a lot happier with this one.

May want to change your name since there is a wrestler who uses that name, spelled a little different but I do believe you could be sued and even if you would win you would still save yourself money for a lawyer and all.

No need to say no offense guy. That's fine. Do what make's you happy, I'm just speaking from a professional stand point that your production and mixing value is going to be absolute shit.

I've seen proof otherwise, considering at his house his stepdad has pretty much all of the equipment for a studio, & he uses FL Studio as well, & the music I've heard that's been created over there isn't shit.

Anyway, here's my newest song:

First 2 Bomb

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WXo0srWRQdM

First time doing a track in a little while, & I'm very, very happy with the way this one came out. I plan on doing a lot more songs in the near future.

Bigger speakers, new mic, stereo, midi box, etc. A lot of shit is needed that we don't have at the moment.

Bigger speakers?... By speakers I'm hoping you mean monitors... and it absolutely depends on which monitors.... by microphone I assume you mean a dynamic microphone since you rap.. and it also depends on the dynamic microphone... same with Midi Box. I don't see what a stereo has to do with any of this... as you don't use a stereo to record anything.

Look, you asked what I needed, & I told you. This is everything I was told I'd need by my friend & his step-dad (who has been working as an underground producer for years). Considering I've been to their place & actually recorded, & heard the difference, I know we'll need all of those things in the long run.

Well I'm sure you definitely will need those things, as I kind of hinted at that to begin with. But until I see further proof of your statement, I respectfully disagree that your friend is creating professional level "beats" with FL Studio. As FL is not professional, and to do such a thing you have to have a very precise ear, and be very good at engineering. I'm not saying the beats are shit, but they aren't as good as you could probably do using a better program or live instruments. Just stating facts mate.

FL is far from professional. I use it to make beats on my free time for fun, but if you're considering a professional career as an artist, FL Studio shouldn't even be considered.

And RIP to Eyedea

Again, I'll say that he's doing a great job by using FL Studio, & that's not to say I completely disagree with you two, but it's not as if he just pulls it up, slaps together a quick & easy beat, & then calls it a day. He likes to challenge himself with beat making in the same way I like to challenge myself with rapping. The only beat that he did quickly was the "Here We Go" beat, which he did in about an hour, but honestly, it was never an actually finished beat, & that's because at the time I was in a rush to get some songs out.

With that said, here's my newest song:

Thug N**** Swag

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OolipNZKZbE

This is obviously a remake of Soulja Boy's song, but honestly, I got the inspiration to do it from Young Jeezy's version. I hated the fact that Soulja had a really good instrumental, but a weak flow & even worse lyrics, so I did my own version to it.

I had been thinking about it for a while, but I didn't plan on doing it. It was a spur of the moment kind of thing.

I'm also still working on my own remix to 50 Cent's "Psycho" but it's not finished yet. I've only recorded two verses to it, & it's not completely mastered yet either.

Me & TJ are also working on a song called "Where The Cash At" where he sampled Lil' Wayne, & that instrumental is just amazing. I'm not saying that because of who made it, but because it truly is amazing to me.

All in all, I'm working on a lot musically, but I also have a lot of other things going on, mainly promoting the music we have & making sure it gets the attention it deserves, so I've got a lot on my plate at the moment.

But, with the latest song, it gave me a chance to cut loose after not having really recorded much lately.

However, for the most part, my plan now is to have at least 10-15 more songs out before this year's end, but next year I'll be working on a lot more. By the end of next year, I want to have created a large buzz around both of us, so that everyone's ear is to our music. But, a lot of that will largely depend on whether or not I fulfill all of the goals I want to accomplish before this year's end.

I've had a lot of setbacks but, I'm just gonna keep it moving.

Well as long as your happy with your product I guess, no use in trying to convince you otherwise. It is what it is I suppose. He'll learn once he finally sees the light eventually. By he I'm referring to your friend not you. And if you want to create buzz, you need to start doing way more than posting your songs on here, which I'm going to assume you do.

And you would assume correctly since I'm constantly bouncing from site to site promoting my music, which has been circulating a very good buzz thus far. For someone who's literally only been rapping for four months, & has put up about 17 songs, I'd say 8,000 views total for all of my videos combined is very good thus far considering the many setbacks I've had.

Of course, I definitely plan to reach out to many more people & get them listening, & I really did that last month. I got a video of mine's from 268 views to 1,065 by the end of the month, & it's still going up because I'm actually promoting & not sitting around waiting for the views to come to me, I make an effort to message people & let them know.

J Lethal - I Don't Like The Look Of It

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OolipNZKZbE

J Lethal - Still Ballin'

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IUgibmBx4go

J Lethal - I Get Crazy

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aTHD_r0SDY0

Really proud of the way all these songs came out, & for the last one, it was literally something I sat down & wrote, recorded, & mixed in about a half an hour to an hour. I didn't pre-plan it, or have any specific lyrics written somewhere, I just thought of the beat, pulled it up, & went from there.

I was anxious to record another song, so I figured something quick & straight to the point would be best.

Still Ballin' was put together on Wednesday, & I literally spent about seven or eight hours working on mixing & mastering it, & trying to get it to be the best it could be, & then I had to go back & do more the next morning, but I'm happy with it, & I'm glad I put hard work into it, so that's what counts.

All in all, I may end up dropping another song today depending on where my energy is at, & I'll make sure it blows the last three songs completely out of the water if I do.

Firstly, here are all of the new songs done before 2011 hit.

Taevon Shevy & J Lethal - I'm Paid

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4dbcuWjjy7A

"I'm Paid" is basically a follow up/remix of "Where The Cash At" even though both instrumentals were produced by Taevon around the same time. The concept of the song is essentially the same (as you can tell by the name) but the lyrics, delivery, & instrumental are what makes it capable of standing on it's own.

J Lethal - Green Goblin

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qgte8o3zxNU

This was a spur of the moment type of song. Initially, I tried writing to it, but I wasn't feeling it. Then, one day, I happened to think about the beat, pulled it up, & the rest, as they say, is history.

J Lethal - 6'7

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EEbqUl4w7q8

I thought Weezy did a superb job with this song, & I always knew I wanted to remix this song. It was still sort of a spur of the moment type of song, though, because it just happened. I'm very happy with the way it came out. Of course, I wish the quality was a bit better, but in terms of the delivery & lyrics, I'm happy.

Now, being that it's the beginning of the year, me & Taevon wanted to make sure we kicked it off with a true bang. Here's our new song:

J Lethal & Taevon Shevy - I'm Phresh

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VCymZ0kin1k

This song really evolved into something more....epic, I guess you could say. Originally, we were only going to do one verse a piece, but he sat down & added even more to the beat. I'm still amazed by how incredible the second half of the instrumental sounds, & it all flows together.

J Lethal - Lethal's Revenge

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CuV_Qi40m40

This wasn't a song that was planned at all, it just happened one day, & I love the way it came out.

Lyrically, I do feel like I've stepped my game up a lot as of late, so for me, it's going to be all about continuing to make good music, & evolving as an artist.

J Lethal - Fire Flame

Out of my latest solo songs, I'd probably say I like Lethal's Revenge the most, & it's gotten the best reception of the four thus far as well.

I got a lot more material on the way soon that won't be all mixtape songs, & I'm looking forward to releasing them soon.
