Wasn't too impressed with his intro here, or Kenichi suddenly deciding he cannot win. He got off one strong kick/push and an open lunge attack, at most it demonstrates that he's stronger, something Ken regularly deals with throughout the series. Besides, we know Ken can keep up with his speed and even land attacks, which seemed to shock even Kajima.
Or am I missing something?

remember how he mentioned seals? I think Kenichi can sense that since he knows nothing about these seals other than that they give Kajima a big boost in power, he can potentially be screwed here.
thing is, Kenichi is pretty much going all out from the start to protect Nijima and Miu. Kajima seems to be taking things a little chill right now, not to mention that the hits he did land on Kenichi did some pretty good damage.

true, but usually it revolves around him getting hit with it enough to know about it. something tells me Kajima is going to try ad use the seals sparsely.
the same could be said about Kajima too. he isn't going all out and given what kind of training he must've gone through, he could probably take as much damage as Kenichi.

aaaaannd it seems like for sure, Mikumo is possibly on the exact same level as Hayato given how she apparently trounced that Daichi guy without a scratch on her. damn.
and I thought it was odd how the manga hadn't addressed the brief conflict between Hongo and that Michael guy back then; the author had been saving it for now.

wow, the fight between Hayato and that Ganosuke guy has finally ended. for now at any rate. now there's definitely going to be a turnaround in all of the other fights.
Because he saved the fox and showed kindness to other animals, he benefited from it. Relying on your own strength instead of others is a concept that Matsuena (the author) loves to indicate is a poor idea.

it would seem so, thought it should also be noted that relying on your own strength doesn't seem to be something that the author is necessarily depicting as bad, but more like the circumstances it's under. before the current arc, a lot of the masters relied on their own strength and feelings and they came out on top. but during cases where they try to hurt another or something, it comes back to bit them. so I think it's more a case of someone using their own strength and trying to literally do away with everything else is what the author is trying to say is bad.

Huh, wow. Chikage is now showing more emotion than she ever did before. And Kenichi has his mojo back. Wonder how this will turn out now that the alliance between Yami and the Hachoiu is going down the drain.
